So, it was 4pm and I had finished all the stuff in the lab and pretty much was heading home when, out of habit I stopped by to check my e-mail, not really expecting anything and *wham* - an official faculty announcement, sent two hours earlier, that students on my year are supposed to attend a visit to Forensic Medicine Institute tomorrow morning at 7:20am. The visit is mandatory, no exceptions.

Now the visit will be fun, but letting me know about it today for tomorrow morning is bloody irresponsible.

I mean, I learned about it by pure chance. There will probably be dozens of people that didn't even get the notice. I'll have to get up at 6am to get a bus to there, also and I have no idea how they plan to accommodate 500+ students in one visit.

There is a good side though - it could have been scheduled for yesterday... Bah... there are days when my faculty defies all common sense.

EDIT: After all, it wasn't that bad - just a huge chunk of miscommunication. The notice was for the other study profile - they just sent it across the board and never bothered to mark it as "not for all".

All I need to do is convert our project to a quicktime file, take some notes, and then send it off to the audio master! Then we're done :)

You don't mix the audio yourselves?

We were going to, but our teacher got a professional audio master to do it for us - we don't have the right programs to go into the clips and cut out background noise, wind, etc very effectively. We can do levels and some background noise deletion, but since he does this for a living, it will be a better final project (hopefully).

We once did an excercise in a video class where we got a short segment from a movieand we had to reconstruct the sound. It was pretty cool! (and of course, my partner and I's work was the best in the class... :))

The bad news is that WSU started deducting me for insurance and a health care plan even though I only work 20 hour weeks right now and I'm covered under my parents health plan. The good news is it'll work out like a tax return, because when I return to school I get the retirement stuff back and the insurance can be canceled.

Even better is that I passed on a job because I thought my roommate could get it (he's been laid off for a while and needed something)... and he is going to get it. Also I have an interview for a job at a restaurant on Saturday, so our apartment will get some cash flow again.

Really wish the coaching thing could have worked out though, because I'd take that and my part time job right now over a full. It would have been an awesome experience and would have gotten me early coaching experience (I mean, nobody gets paid to coach high school ball at 19).

Washington State is also going to cut another 15 million from the budget, mostly because our governor (Christine Gregoire) is worthless, and to go along with tuition increase of 14% again means I'm probably transferring. The destination? The University of Idaho which is across the border 8 miles away of so and I can receive a tuition rate of 150% of in-state (so a total of $3,300 or so a semester rather than the $5,000 or so I'd pay at WSU) through the Western Undergraduate Exchange program. I got lucky because you need at least a 2.8GPA as a transfer student to receive eligibility to get it and I have a 2.82 despite a bad last semester (2.56 or so).

However, I'll still live in Pullman (rather than Moscow for UI) because I like it more here and the short drive isn't much.

    Awesome.

Now just have to figure out what major to really go for and I'll be good. Still looking for physical therapy stuff, but I only want to stay in school for a BA degree for now, so we'll see where that takes me.

I got exactly 30 minutes of sleep last night (well this morning), at some point between 7 and 8. Now I'm at work and can barely form a coherent thought.

This week is not off to a good start.

I got a new job, but I don't really want it. It's a new restaurant and the people running it seem way too full of themselves.

Don't want to work for pretentious pricks like them.

Today was almost a complete waste, which is bad news because that means I have to write my research paper while studying for exams... I am probably going to end up writing my Japanese film paper in Spanish about Horror Stories from America, and talk about Japanese violence and economy on my Horror Stories Final. And I will just write gibberish on my Spanish final.

Well, if it's funny gibberish, the teachers usually give you a couple more points... :)

Just found out that the bastards at Uni just canceled two courses I really wanted to take, one of which was one that I had wanted ever since I enrolled.

Now what am I supposed to do?

That happened to me while I was at the university. We got enough students together to take the class and they returned on their decision. Might be worth a try.. :)

[IMG] I ended up changing universities when they cancelled my course. Then again I had specifically applied for it, so I guess it works differently over there.

In similar news - I am retaking first year modules because I was one module short from passing the year - apparently the head of the year MAY have changed his mind on whether I not I passed one of the units last year.

Which means? I may have been held back a year for nothing.

Which means? The reason I can't afford to complete my course now and the reason I can't pay my rent is because this guy couldn't be bothered to look over my paperwork properly the first time.

I honestly am not sure what to think about it!

Woo! I'm officially a college graduate!

My little peice of paper that cost over $40k to get isn't as cool as I hoped for. I was expecting it to be made of gold...so I was a little bummed when I found it wasn't. :bad:

Does it double as a gift certificate to your local escort service?

If not, burn the thing, it has no real use :p
