"Hmm, curious answer. I must admit I hadn't thought of such. Had you asked me first I would say no, however, now I am no longer sure. I think those seeking forgiveness should have a chance to recieve it, as for the remaining..."
his voice fades and his face seem to darken slightly in thought.
"It would depend, I guess, as you said. If oneself possible to forgive some atrocity, is another matter."

Falling silent, Tanari walks a little further with a pale face, then suddenly looks at Cugaer once more, "Being a priest, could you tell me of these rituals or spells that restore life to the dead? Is it commendable, or is it part of some dark twisted thing?"

 

As Tanari asks the question a smile appears on Cugaers face.

"I wish!" Cugaer bursts out laughing, loud enough to scare birds out of their nests.
"I truely wish I could, my friend. That type of thing is olny taught to those higher than myself, in the preisthood."

He laughs again before walking on a bit, "Maybe someday, maybe someday. Have you noticed those merchants are following us? I wonder what they are up to?"

 

A smirk appears on Tanari's face, and he casts a look at the merchant, then faces Cugaer.
"Well we did ask if they would travel along? I have to admit had they asked us, I wouldn't feel that safe to walking in their midst either. Would you?"

He grins and chews unconsciouslly at his lower lip, then looks to the sky trying to determine if the rain is going to worsen.
"Do you believe in guardian angels?"

 

"No I wouldn't trust them... I don't know if I trust them as it is." Cugaer shrugs his shoulders "But I guess we've got no choice. And as to your question about gardian angles, I..."

He trails off into silence. Cugaers green eyes seem all of a sudden very distant, as if stairing at something way away. All of a sudden he shakes his head, trying to clear his thoughts.

With a sudden laugh he adds "Yeah, I should belive in them, alright!" Once again he is silent for a while. "Tanari, tell me about your home. What's it like to live in a forest? With people who seldom die? It must be paradise."

 

A grave look fell over Melvin's face as he overheard the conversation in front of him. A wash of dread and sorrow darkened his pale features as his eyes flicked over to his elven friend.

"You'd be surprised, dear priest..." he mumbled quietly.

 

"If you care so much, I could 'scan' them."

 

Cugaer glances back at Yri.

"Scan them? What is that?"

 

"Paradise..." he sneered, unconsciousnly starting to play with his silver ring, turning it around.
"They might seldom die of age my friend, but war can still rob many lives. Have you ever been in a war Cugaer? The fiend I told you about, he has taken many good lives from my people. It is a war that is far from over, and it is why I must find that artifact."

He closes his eyes and seems taken back to another time and place, letting his memories run rampant for his inner eye.
"Before the war, it was peaceful, and joy of living unnoticed by the rest of the world fitted us just fine. We had no fears, and people went about perfecting their skills of art. I was taught to play the panpipe, to dance and sing by... a victim of the fiend. I am the harbinger of my peoples' judgement, Cugaer. I await only my chance to set things right, no matter the cost."

Hearing Yri's suggestion, he turns around to face him, "If you could do it discreetly, then please do. One cannot be too careful in this world."

 

Cugaer nods as Tanari finishes talking. With an unreadable look on his face he turns towards the elf.
"No, I have never seen war. And thank Brenal for that." The cleric pauses and his nuckels turn white as he grips his staff. "We will find this artifact of yours and then go and take revenge on this...this... demon, for what it did."
After that, Cugaer just nods and walks on, muttering to himself about something.

 

"I make no illusions of the danger involved, and I doubt we'll be any match now he has the artifact. I should gladly accept help from anyone willing, but would warn against it. He is fierce and vile, I have tried study him to find weaknesses. Sometime when I learn more, I shall find his hiding place or lure him to a place where I can find him. Then, it shall be settled. However, the future is not now.. such thoughts can wait, been waiting for a long time already, more shouldn't differ."

He coughs a bit, and drives his thought off Alzeroth and his minions. Looking at Cugaer, he bugs the priest once more.
"You still have the directions to Avenshire, right? I only know the road to Mesharr I'm afraid."

 

Cugaer once again burst out laughing as Tanari asks his question
"Avenshire? That's just down the road towards Mersharr. It shouldn't be to far away now."

 

"I think someone mentioned it'd be an eight days walk on foot. That's still about a week to go."
Tanari ponders if he might just have been imagining things, "Maybe you're right though.."

 

"Ha! 8 days shouldn't be to far for an elf, should it? How far have you travelled? How many years? And you say 8 days is far?"

Cugaer sighs a deep sigh. "I can't wait to get there, hopefully someone will know of the cure. I don't care who it is, if it's that witch or those druids, as long as some one does!"

 

"It may not be far for an elf, but it's far enough for one of the shorter folk," adds Melvin grumpily.

 

"Seems I'll have to go and 'scan' them. I'm not a born scout, though - I'd appreciate it if one of our specialists lent his skills. You know, woods, tracks... no paradise for a clumsy paladin."

 

"I'll go with you, it makes a change from this walking. How are you going to 'scan' them anyway?"

 

Hearing Melvin and Yri volunteering, Cugaer turns around and nods.

"Yes, that might be a good idea. How close do you need to be," he asks of the Paladin. "Maybe you could slip off to the side and hide in on of them ditches until they get close enough. Leave your horse here, and the rest of us will continue onwards to make it look like nothing's happened."

Turning to Melvin, Cugaer adds "I don't think you should go Melvin. If to many of us disappear, it might look suspisous." With a sigh he finished," but go if you insist."

 

"Well, if you expect Yrinnyn to come sneaking in the bushes in full platemail, you've got another thing coming," Melvin winked.

"I'm well versed in the arts of shadows, someone has to be." He looked to Yri, "what did you mean by 'scanning' them? Magical spell?"

 

"I'll just know if something particularly nasty is on their mind or not. Don't ask me, it's just the way it is. Now let's go. You be the scout, there wouldn't be any use of me even without the armour."

 

"If you say so.." Melvin mumbled as he stepped sideways under the shadow of a tree. "You keep going," he said to Cugaer, "I will wait here and then follow them through the copse at the side of the path [if there is one Oaz]."

Looking to Yrinnyn, he asked the armour clad knight; "And what will you be doing?"
