I think a seperate topic is needed for that but nevertheless I will answer it.

Iraq is much more suitable for an invasion than Iran. We can say Iraq is an "artificial" country, because until WW1, there is nothing named as the people of Iraq. And inside Iraq, ethnic groups are always ready to strangle each other. But Iran is different, she is a deep-rooted country. They have a 3000 year old culture, which starts with Persia. Iran is a real country where people won't tolerate the invaders. If US tries to invade Iran, they will face great resistance in their every step; moreover Iran has a more advanced military power than Iraq. US can't invade Iran without nukes.

On the other had, Syria is very much like Iraq in the aspects I mentioned. If Bush has some intelligence( but I know he doesn't, he is the dumbest person I know), it will be Syria; because Iran will kick US's ass very hard if US doesn't use nukes.

We wouldn't need nukes to own Iran. Don't base your understanding of American military power upon what has occured in Iraq. The American armed forces showed up in Iraq, and were then told to manufacture 'democracy'. I don't know about the rest of you, but I find it very hard to physically build an intangible notion.

    Killing Iranians however, different story.

allthough in Iran you might risk a desert-vietnam, which i dont think even bush want to risk. like in vietnam, the regular american troops do to better gear and training, would kill a lot of iranies, the problems is that the iranie people dosn't seem to have a great hate for its goverment, so the war would be long and hard, properly leading to a fairly early defeat of the conventionel army, only to result in urban and gerillia warfare.

from what i can see, this is not what the american people wants right now

No, hopefully not. If two nations are at war, it can almost be guarenteed that at least one of the two leaders is a moron. Unfortunately, Iran and America both have idiots for leaders. At least we know that Bush will be gone soon. Hopefully Ahmadinejad will lose in the next Iranian election as well.
