[IMG] I tried that link and it work fine. Thanks for putting it up so I didn't have to Email that file to everyone.
What do you think of it? I think the fack that you receive the extra feat like the fighter. I think this give the Ranger more flexibility. I also put many of the feats into bow. Point black shot, and far shot. I think my next feat is going into a weapon focus in bow as well.

The hated enemy feats are cool as well but all my enemies are undead or constructs so crits are a no go.

[IMG] That is the main attraction of this ranger profile.... archer characteristics over dual wield. :) Perfect for me.

What other prestige classes are there for archers besides the arcane archer?

[IMG] I think some of the prestiege class in S&F can be used for archers = Zen archery or weapons master to name a few. In addition I assume the rogue and ranger books coming out this winter will add more to that list.

Indeed. Yeah it's a benefit for the fighter that he/she can choose a bonus feat. I have Point Blank shot for with that as base I can get other feats that increase my bowfighting. My AC isn't that good as the AC of the Dwarven Fighter, so he will be the best fighter, the I can better also specialise some on arching. Well, the Ranger get's the Track feat as bonus and that will also be very useful I suppose. At the moment my melee and ranged attacks are exactly equal, so that will be hard to choose what to do. I am the fastest in our group so in a fight I can be the first to melee attack but I think many times it is better to use the bow and wait till the dwarve is in front.

[IMG] Headbanger, I been meaning to ask did you run the module I suggested? I know you said you had your first session but was that just PC creation or did you play yet? If you did play the adventure how did it go? What did you think of length, complexity and content? How do you like 3E verses your 2E experience with BG and the like?

We already played but at last the DM decided suddenly that he had more time then expected and he though it would be better to create a story by himself. We played now 2 days, 5 hours per day.

    The story:

We woke up in a prison, couldn't remember anything. It was very dark. We are with 3 persons, no equipment. Two guards brought bad water and bread. When we heard new guards comming, we stood beside of the door. Thief threw sand in the eyes of a guard and I hit him with the flask where the watter was in. Took his sword, killed the other one together and the other also. With some problems and fights we escaped. Listen near a door and heard another conpanion was trapped. We where discovered while escaping but where helped by a thief that waited outside. He lad is to a tavern somewhere in the slums. We gained more info and heard we where in Neverwinter, in the cold north-west of Fearun. 5 years ago a mage, Borhius, gained the lead by a coupe. He seemed to get his powers out of a magical book, we where hired to get that book. A mage, Rodin, knew much about that book, helped us and was also prisoned... somewhere else. We worked for a guild of moonelves that wanted to get the old Steward back. After a night they got more info, Rodin was trapped in an orc-encampment in the NeverWinter Woods. Now we are exploring the woods there, to find the camp.

[IMG] Sounds like a good start. Nothing like the old DM trick of starting you in prison. It's a great stand-by for starting a campaign and avoid the 'you are all in a tavern' introduction. I think that getting the party together in a meaningful way is one of the greatest challenges for a DM.

    You are right :)

What we miss is a cleric in our party, playing without healers is kinda hard, the Heal ability of the Ranger isn't that fatastic. Next time, another NPC, a Gnome Illusionist, will join. The 3 characters that already played are now level up so I suppose things will go better now.
