I did go down to a goatee, and I also gave the hair on top a clipper job (really short). I've always liked my hair short.

Well...I grew one last semester...till my girlfriend made me shave it off...

Apparently, you can tell a gentleman by the shine on his chin and his boot... :p

And a friggin' thick moustache if we're talking about Victorian gentlemen. And sideburns. :shake:

So no, don't follow that example. Go for the Roman standard. And I don't mean Marcus Aurelius. :shake:

Shave the whole thing, I guess. ;)

Goatees are a very good thing. Especially if you have no chin to speak of. Like me.

 :jawdrop: W...T...F was that!?!? :jawdrop:

You look like you fell out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down...but if that wasn't enough, you tried to climb back up and fell yet again! :p :shake: :p

Nah...just kidding. I've seen A LOT worse. I know the ugliest dork on the planet, who somehow landed himself the hottest girl in all of Utah.

Trust me, drop the lack of self confidence, and you'll do just fine. :thumb:

Low self-esteem is the ugliest feature on one's self. And guess what, it's all in your head. :rolling:

I think "geek" has been popular since the 3 geeks on the X-files.

I got a picture of a man in front of a computer. I guess it's a different picture than the others got, since there's no reason for this person to be lacking self-esteem.

In case I did see the correct pic:
I can't see too clearly, but are that little braids bounded to the back of your head? I like the look of it. If it's not, try it.
The sideburns are too long. I got mine to the lower point of my ears. I guess if the part on your jaws is cut off, it would be a good improvement.
In your case, I guess not too much facial hair would be good. A 'one-day-beard' (as we call it here) might be nice, though.

And if that's a shirt/blouse, wear it over your pants. If it's something like a vest: Good call!

    Just my opinion. :D

I've seen much uglier people on the Sorcerer's Place Members Photo's (sorry for you, guys ;) ) and they didn't seem to care what people thought of it.

Quite so, DS, quite so. :shake:

As the others said, Iku-Turso, you're not ugly and confidence is the key. ;)

Hey peops, everybody speaks as in "not ugly". I actually think the lad is quite cool. Cool as in 'making a positive impression', not 'look at me being uppish, cold and da man'.

I vote paranoid too. Not that I care about looks in any way. What works best for me is to sport a lot. Then I'll feel great, and automatically think I look great. Just like some others have said. If you show self-confidence, other people will think better of you too.

At least, that's what I think. I never cared enough to actually find out what other people really think about me, so I might be wrong, though.

Oh, and: Facial hair itches! Sideburns not as much as a beard, but still. How do you stand it? I like it when my face feels smooth like a babies butt.

Nah, it only itches when it's short. If you let it grow out, the hair gets soft and is a nice protection against cold weather. ;)

    Cold weather and musquitos. :p
I guess at first it would itch a bit, you get used to it after a while.
Not everybody should let hs facial hair grow longer, like people who have tufts of hair here and there on their cheaks and jaws. It wouldn't look proper.

I don't care and I like my unshaved look. :p Except when I actually have to study, then it's bad because when I doze off a bit and my head falls, my neck itches from the stubble and I can't work like that. :p

Besides, it's all about confidence. No matter what you come up with looks-wise, someone will still like it because of the law of great numbers at work. :p So confidence is key. For example, while I'm still handsome and all, I radiate sheer power and eat raw hearts, hence 99% women are after me. :p

Confidence wins the battle. I was blessed with decent looks so I shouldn't judge anyone but confidence is what will take the prize before looks.

Sideburns work for certain people. I have sideburns, they seem to work. But I also had 5 days of stubble on my face right now and that still seems to work.
