Cutthroat is by no means a low damage weapon. The key for backstabbing is to have a great minimum damage, so that the backstab isn't wasted. Damage (befoer strength bonus, which isn't multipied by backstab bonus) from Cutthroat is 1-6 +4 for enchantment, +2 for weapons specialization. In other words 7-12. Damage from Celestial Fury (before strength bonus and +2- extar which is also unaffected by backstab bonus) is 1-10 +3 for enchantment +2 for weapons specialization. So 6-15. The average damage from the CF is 1 point more than the cutthroat, but the minimum damage is worse. And cutthroat isn't stopped by improved mantle (although both are, of course stopped by stoneskins). I'm not saying cutthroat is better than CF, but it is still an excellent backstab weapon, and the speed factor 0 is a nice advantage.
