    Yup, it was Alive! It starred Ethan Hawke as the lead, and he kept hold of a kid's shoe, so when he returned it would be re-united with the other of the pair. As for location, all i'm sure is it was in the Andes, and two members had to trek into Chile for help. Oh, and no there wasn't a foot in it.

    Right timeframe. I do not believe there is any music to cover a scream (Hitchcock commonly used violins). Sol's silent scream was a powerful display of emotional anguish -- the performance netted the actor a Oscar nomination.

    Another hint: It would have been okay had the Oscar gone to either Lawrence Olivier or Richard Burton (two incredible performances), but Lee Marvin? The actor did win a Best Actor Oscar two years later for 'In the Heat of the Night.'
