    I was hoping nobody would guess that... it wasn't what I was thinking about but I didn't know how to word it to rule out those type of answers haha....

    "Type of answers" meaning things that don't fly that appear on a airplane/rocket/jet/balloon/etc.

    Try something other than those.

    Sorry, fourth edit within a minute. I think this wording might be better: what is fixed to the ground but comes in a flight? That should ought to do it :) (You can see I haven't exactly thought this out thoroughly before posting)

    Ummmmm. How about angles or corners? For example, you have a piece of paper and cut one corner off. What falls is actually a triangle, so it's really three corners or angles. You're left with a piece of paper with three of the original sides and an angled cut, so five angles or corners are left.

    I don't know if this is what you're looking for, but it seems to fit the question/riddle.

    OK, this seems a softball to me:

    A woman shoots her husband.
    Then she holds him under water for over 5 minutes.
    Finally, she hangs him.
    But 5 minutes later they both go out together and enjoy a wonderful dinner together.

    How can this be?
