I'm trapped on my sofa. There is an ocean of building bricks between me and the door and Ashley is trying to 'fix mummys leg' with a plastic hammer

@Silvery: that is so cute! :)

I don't know what is the appeal of guns to the American public. I've fired a shotgun when I was a kid, it was thrilling I admit but that's not something I'd do for entertainment as a grown man (I'm not a hunter). Since you're making the comparison, I'd like to point out that I prefer swords, nobody can deny that there is a certain artistry to fencing.

FYI almost nobody this side of the Atlantic ever uses a baseball bat and the few who do certainly don't use them to play baseball. :shake:

@Cap'n CJ: Too serious? Perhaps, but I'm pretty sure you'll agree that getting drunk and jesting with weapons is a good recipe for disaster.

All I'm going to add is that even when drunk it's not hard to be sensible about gun safety. If you know what you're doing and aiming at targets (non-human preferably :p) then it is rarely a problem.

Shattering plates and similar items while drunk is crazy fun for some reason.

St. Patties day, party at Chicken's place!

    Firstly - Too true
Secondly - F**k yeah! Archer is by far the best new show I've seen in years. Makes me LMFAO every episode.
Thirdly, The show is on Hulu.com now....so download and enjoy! :thumb:

Nooo! I try to keep out of the alley as much as possible. I can't stand endless loops of gibberish about a bunch of bulls**t. If I wanted to talk about nothing, just to hear myself speak, I would have gotten a degree in philosophy... :p

    PM me dude.

    ---------- Added 0 hours, 7 minutes and 15 seconds later... ----------

    LOL!
    Repp'ed

I was actually thinking more along the lines of something sharp and pointy...like a sword...not a foil.

    *sigh*
Fine...a cricket bat/paddle/thingamajig....or anything blunt and heavy. :p

Or sharp and pointy like a baseball bat? :shake:

For the record fencing is not all about foils. It seems to me you know a lot more about guns than you do about swords.

Cricket bat won't do (in most places outside the UK). Paddle? Not sure it might be needed for the canoe or the spanking session... Golf club may send the wrong picture. That leaves a sledgehammer. Simple, a bit crude but perfect for demolition work.

Well, in a fight between sword and gun, the gun usually wins. :p

[IMG] You can also get sharpened foils, sabres and epees.

They're not legal to sell but all you have to do is take the bobble off the end and it's pretty sharp anyway. Sabres you have to buy uncoiled at the end.

Had to buy a pack of bobbles when one on my foil cracked and fell off. Made the rest of the fights that evening rather interesting.

    I miss fencing :(

We don't spend all our time talking about nothing! Normally we're talking about something, it's just sometimes hard to tell exactly what the argument is over...

lol, well this would have been your chance to lead the way for reform in the alleys then. ;)

I'd PM you, but the 'thrill' of posting on a public message board kind of loses its oomph when you're only talking to one person. :p

    Quite true.

Hammers, boards, tire irons, axes, parrot-wrenches, otoh... :p

The stop sign was an anomaly.

Off topic: I wish there were a socially acceptable way to decline wine offered by parents.
