I used to be really into WoW. Got out of it for about a year then a friend suggested I switch servers and so I did, over to his server. The guild he's a member of welcomed me with open arms and I played pretty regularly for about a month or so before my interest waned again. I've realized that I prefer the party banter of RPG's over MMO's because at least there I don't have to deal with channel spam or someone asking me if I'm ok because I'm not talking when in fact I'm just trying to concentrate on my daily quests. Plus, one time fee - I buy the game and no more money out of pocket lol.

Btw, if anyone wants the recipe for monkey bread, let me know - I've got it sitting up by my computer after PMing it to Saber. I'm so hungry for it now I think I'm going to go to the store sometime this weekend and pick up the ingredients for it that aren't already in my cupboard :D

I know someone who almost lost the custody to his child because he got addicted to WoW. I'm not touching that game with a 20 foot rusty halberd, my willpower is abysmal.

I was fifteen minutes away from beating Uncharted 2 and... the PS3 froze. I hope it wasn't because of overheating and everything is dead now... that's what I get for neglecting work to play all day

Gah, I'm sending you good vibes Saber! I know how that feels. I once erased by accident my season in my hockey game. Since I was playing on PC, I had made a backup of the save game, but still, I had saved it when I was in mid season whereas I was in the final games of the playoffs when I erased it... :(

I slipped going up the stairs the other day and have blown my knee out AGAIN! Not going to the hospital because all I get is 'Well Mrs. Shafto, you really need to lose some weight'
'Oh, will that stop me falling over?'
'Well no but it does mean that you won't injure yourself like this'
'Really, that's amazing because the same thing happened when I was 6 stone lighter and doing 12 hours martial arts training a week.'
'Ah well, that was because you have hyper-mobile joints'
'So being fat means I don't have that anymore?'
'Umm...no...look, just take paracetamol and ibuprofen'

Yes, but you have another leg, two fists, two elbows... Like they say in the movie Mystery Men, "You must lash out with every limb, like the octopus who plays the drums" ... :p

Fine but I'll need to hold on to something so that takes out an arm/fist. I'm already down by a leg and the only way I can kiss someone is to kick them in the meat and veg first

Saber, don't worry... it's not an Xbox 360, it'll survive.

See, told ya... no sweat. While on the PS3 subject, I played some Sacred 2 earlier today. Had been a while... and damn, this game is fun.

Woo! Last night, I got my first tattoo! I'm proud of it! :) And it didn't really hurt. In fact, it hurts more after (with the healing, the itchiness and stuff) then during the procedure itself.

I really tried to make today a nice and useful day - woke up early, came to lab early, had the column wrapped up by 10am and a good yield spinning on the high vacuum pump... which at some point apparently sucked up oil and got all messed up. :(

I had checked everything as usual. The thing freaks me out - there's no way I would have been *that* careless around it.
I was nowhere near it and did everything by the book, but it certainly looks like my fault. It feels like it, too.

    Bloody nightmare.

So, yes, I'm kicking today to a dustbin and getting on the first bus home, the moment the pump is cleaned up and hopefully operational.

    Productivity is pointless.

    EDIT:

OTOH, the substance is 100% pure on GC/MS... :whoa: There be gremlins in the cogwheels!
