I guess that's what I don't understand. Assuming your statement is true, then yes, we are definitely talking about two targets. However, how do you know there are two seperate targets? I don't see where the transcript suggests that.

Obviously, just hearing the words or reading the transcript is going to lead to some confusion. All I'm saying is if you don't already know that they are talking about two seperate targets, when you read the transcript the normal conclusion you would draw is that they are talking about a single target. I'm just trying to figure out where in the trascript one of the pilots says something to the effect of "hey, there's a second target". As it presently reads, I have no idea at what point the transition takes place. I don't know what parts of the coversation relate to the first target and which to the second. After reading it a THIRD time, it still sounds like the attacked was on the revetted vehicles, but if that wasn't the British convoy, then I'm still confused.

When P36 says 'hey I got a four ship...', that's when they've spotted the Brits. Unfortunately, there was no transition; having two conversations simultaneously is, as we see, confusing.

When P36 says 'hey I got...', he's referring to the Brits; when MH replies 'I understand that was 800 meters north [of the artillery impact]', he's referring to the location of the multiple vehicles in reverts (MVR). When P36 says 'confirm, north 800 meters', he is making a critical error.

We know the MVR aren't the Brits because P35 reports the MVR's location to MH. P36 reports the 'four ship' location to P35, who initially doesn't see them ('evenly spaced? Where we strafed?' 'No, no, further east...along the canal').

Unfortunately, there is no transition; conversation about multiple topics (not just the two targets) remains intermingled throughout the transcript. Naturally, having multiple conversations at once is confusing. Hence strafing a friendly convoy without first checking to see if it is friendly, while being under the impression that they had checked to see if it was friendly.
