We talk a lot about sport, but which ones do we play ourselves

There actually is a physical component to gaming. Much like darts you still have to aim for a game like CS (by moving the mouse around and pressing directional keys).

And whenever I see those guys in the Embassy who are easily twice my weight, I find it very hard to think of darts as a sport.

@Harbourboy: we used to play netball at school back in Argentina and as you said, it was mostly played by girls, so it was a shame if you were seen playing it, but we didn't care at all.

I used to play basketball, now, occasionaly. I play soccer; often table tennis and pool, although I would love to play snooker but there aren't any tables around here; sometimes I enjoy some chess games with a couple of friends who can't beat me :nono:

    henkie,

But a computer can play a game like Counterstrike. Hence, it is not a sport.

I used to be a competitive fencer, then hung up the epees and took up long-distance cycling when I hooked up with Velcro (amazing what meeing a new bf while riding can do for your mileage! ;) ). Since becoming a mom, tho', my primary sport is kid-schlepping.

We do some cycling with the kids but not as much as we'd like. We do more walking in the woods, and now Arlyn has taken it into his head that he wants to hike the Appalachian Trail someday. We'd better start training!

Well, I guess it's better to be in a relationship with a 'Velcro' than with a 'Teflon,' right? :shake:

As for sports, up to last year I played soccer with an intramural grad student team, but now just go to the gym. Thinking of taking up rockclimbing again (tho that's not a sport) or rowing...

I play badminton, tennis, table tennis, frisbee.

So basically, I don't play the sports that I watch the most (hockey, baseball) :p

Hmm, 'both' kinds? There are at least six kinds that are sometimes discussed around here so you might need to be a bit more specific.

Played golf yesterday, then jogged a little over 3 miles, then biked about 5 miles (mostly uphill). Slept well.
