If you said "footie" in New Zealand, we would assume you were referring to rugby union.

Netball, hockey, tennis, badminton, athletics and a tiny amount of football. Athletics primarily though.

I played football in my younger years, made it to a youth selection of the local pro club, but i wasn't very serious in those years, so i kinda flushed my chances down the toilet. I had a very lively sexlife though, so i guess that makes up for the loss. :D

All in all i played football for 12 years, i quit as an active player at the age of 21, because i couldn't combine it anymore with visiting my favourite club. I had to play a lot at the same time they kicked off at the stadium, and i hated missing a match of my hometown club.

I also did some kickboxing for about a year. Nothing fancy, mostly training and a bit of sparring, i never played any official matches.

Nowadays i do a lot of lifting, mostly cans and bottles. I can keep that up for an amazing long period of time without falling from my seat. :shake:

I run cross country, but I played soccer for a while when I was in middle school and elementary school.

    Competitively I play:
    -Basketball (open A, school team)
-Conoeing (school, captain and under 18 state champion (most points scored in under 18 races in the season - and I got a nice heavy cup for it)).
I'm also a swimming instructor (as of the end of last year) and I played table tennis for a club a while back.

I used to play soccer competitively and AFL with a few of my friends but now I have laid back and have been sticking to golf (I have NOT become really lazy and hire carts out for every game, I still walk all of the 9 hole rounds and most of the 18 hole rounds)
I used to like going for long swims when I'm out in the boat but I have stopped that with the reported increase in bull shark numbers in the bay.
    And paintball. Gotta love paintball

I play both Association and American football as well as basketball, volleyball, ultimate frisbee and racketball. For exercise I do martial arts and running. Running = :( but it has to be done.

Ultimate frisbee? You've got to be having a laugh with that one surely.

"Ultimate Frisbee" is as kickass a name for a sport as "Snakes on a Plane" is for a movie.

I wouldn't mock it. The only sport that runs more (besides the obvious Cross-country) is football (soccer). Frisbee is constant running untill someone scores, in which you get to walk back to your goal and then run again. It takes a lot of talent to through a frisbee accurately long distances with speed, especially in high wind.

I play it, and I'm proud of it.

I know it sounds like that BA. The game is not some extreme sport where people are doing super acts or putting their health in peril but then again I didn't name it. :)

The game is a real blast to play though and a good work out if you have a fairly large field and not too many people. Like Saber says, the game rocks.

I can't believe I haven't answered this one yet. In any case I play tennis and badminton and do some running. The military has naturally seen quite a significant rise in fitness for me and I'll try to do my best keeping it up.
