    Some good picks here.

Ivanhoe (the 5 hour A & E version), because it proves my point that you don't have to have handsome actors or special effects to make a great movie. Other than Christopher Lee, I don't think any of the actors are famous at all. The only special effect is a bit of slow motion during some of the fight scenes. Yet the plot is as complex and the story as gripping, as anything I've ever watched. If I had to pick a favorite, this would be it.

After this, my top 5 would be:
1)Monty Python and the Holy Grail, because it's just too funny! Favorite line "You can't expect to wield supreme executive power just because some watery tart threw a sword at you!"
2)Lord of the Rings, because I never believed that they could capture the book well, and it proved me completely wrong. Maybe they left out a few minor things here and there (Tom Bobadil), but otherwise it was pretty much dead on, almost exactly what I pictured while reading it.
3)Snatch, because it's funny, and convoluted, and the characters are all so memorably bizarre. I like movies that have a lot going on in them.
4)Brazil, because it is very, very bizarre and very cool. A strange blend of past and present, reminiscent of George Orwell's "1984" novel.
5)Lord of Illusions, because it is an awesome horror movie, not just a "splatter flick".

    Many movies allready mentioned +

since i saw many movies, cant say wich one is the best, but when i was younger i am certain that Goonies was my favorite.

Best anime movie i saw was Lupin III: Castle of Cagliostro (but then again i didn't see the 1st and 2nd)

Now i remembered, the best movie(s) are all by Mel Brooks, but especally Funny Side of History (i think that is the name)

ToTal, are you referring to History of the World?
All the Mel Brooks movies are hilarious! I also liked Young Frankenstien, Blazing Saddles, and Spaceballs.

Right now, I like Time Machine and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

But as soon as I get done playing Jedi Knight 2, I'm sure Crouching Tiger will go to the background for a while.

As far as Best Movie Evar!!, I might have to go with Patton. Full Metal Jacket blurs the lines sometimes, but since only the first half of that movie is hilarious, I'll probably have to give the 1st place to Patton. Granted, there are some good one-liners in the last half of FMJ...

The Transformers movie. I cried so hard when Optimus Prime died. Well... I was 7 years old.

    On a more serious note:

    1. Fight Club (as someone said, it really makes you think)
    2. Southpark (BLaU)... extremely funny
    3. Monty Python and the Holy Grail (so funny, and so very clever).
    4. The Life of Brian (so funny, so clever, and such a great send up of religion)
