    Currently reading Volume XX of the Writers of the Future anthology. In there is a piece titled "Flotsam" which was written by a good friend of mine. Yay, Brad! :thumb:

    The pillars of the earth by Ken Follet. 1st 1000 pager I've started for ages :)

    Just finished part two of Kerr's Dragon Mage books, but I need a break, I've read the whole Deverry saga up to that point in the last 6 months.

    As everyone else, I can't wait for 'A Feast for Crows'. I shall savour it by re-reading the others when I finally get my grubby mits on it!

    Viking - Pillars of the Earth is a very good book. Hope you enjoy it. I'll never look at a cathedral in the same way again.

    That, and a book written more than 150 years ago that came intpo print only a llittle while ago, about the folklore and mythology of Lapland, by Lars Levi Lestadius...

    Alternating between History text book types and book 4 of the Belgarian by Eddings... so far, each time i open one of Eddings' books and sit down... i have to finish it... they're that good. Why is it that the fantasy type is so much more pleasing on the eyes than dry historical dribble?

    *sighs and continues to look at one of the texts... falling ever so steadily asleep*

    I just finished Monstrous Regiment by Pratchett - it is certainly not one of his better books.

    I don't know how I let myself get talked into doing so but I have started reading Dead in Dixie by Charlaine Harris. It is not my cup of tea but so far it hasn't been too painful. Oh well, at least my friend will no longer be able to use the old argument of you like fantasy, how do you know you wont like reading one of my chick-book vampire romance novels. :rolleyes: (o.k. she doesn't call them that but I like to call a spade a spade ;) ).

    "Dragons of Winter Night", second book of the trilogy and one of the best fantasy books out there. It's just a shame that they have spiced it with the regular lovey-dovey I'm-so-sick-of-it -stuff. :shake:

    I have several unfinished things on the nightstand, just waiting for maternity leave to give me enough time to finish them up. Even so, I'm diving into "Turning Points," the first anthology in the new "Thieves' World" line.

    Kaspar's Box by Jack Chalker - his books are all fairly similar, but they are generally good.

    Anyone who hasn't tried him should read Midnight at the Well of Souls - very good sci-fi.
