I may be a soulless dwarf - but I agree with Laurana too. Imagine the Modron cube from Planescape. Imagine it going on until the pathetic low threat constructs stop being funny. Imagine 300 hours of that. That, IMHO is what RPGs would be like with all combat and no story.

[IMG] You soulles dwarf ... lol ... actually it´s the story that I like about BG-2. If I´d just liked to killkillkill I´d play a dc fighter-assassin or a pure fighter but that´s boring - or I´d reinstall my good old Duke-3D ;)
I played thieves in p`n`p too and except that stealing there was more difficult, I don´t think that I don´t roleplay a thief. However, I won´t write about powergaming and roleplaying anymore - useless <Ragusa cries> :(

this post may be annoying so (dons acolyte's cloak of humility) if you could please forgive me for referring to a point we have since moved on from (grovel) I would have to admit that I have never tried dual classing as I am too short. I like being a multiclass fighter thief though as it means I can focus on locks and traps (what else are dwarven thieves good for) and still be able to defend myself. The time working up from level one when you dual class just scares me right off.
