I agree. The only thing that might be an issue is the corn as it can get quite tall; of course, the same could be said for shrubs and trees.

Aldeth, thanks very much for the compact and clear clarification -- now it's clear for me.

Gah, that's awful. Thank God we don't have HOAs here... Given that neighbourly disputes, quarrels and envy are a national sport, it'd probably be a fight to the death on every lot because pretty much everyone's got some kind of beef with something that's on their neighbour's lot or that they're doing. It'd be a bloodbath, seriously.

[IMG] Unless she planted some 'deterrant' plants for the neighbours I don't see what the complaints are really about :p

Charges dropped, woman now faces charges for her two unlicensed dogs.

Story develops: Charges dropped for organic garden, but new charges filed for unlicensed dogs
    Sounds petty and vengeful.

Maybe that's what too much team sports does to America: They gotta win! No. A city and its employees ought to govern well, and keep a level head, and not get themselves into a vendetta against uppity citizens.

And then, same thing as before, 93 days possible jail for not having properly licensed the dogs, despite them having corrected it after it had been pointed out to them? Absurd.

Deterrant plants? Hmmm.....Good idea! I do have an annoying neighbor's dog. Maybe a couple roided-up Venus fly-traps or an "Audrey 2" will do the trick.

[IMG] There are certain plants that are toxic to humans and most animals but have enough beneficial effects upon the soil and garden pests that they can be planted with vegetables but not harvested. It has the dual purpose that you get the botanical benefits and any veggie thieves will get a rather upset stomach :p

Most are surprisingly closely related to edible plants. One of the most deadly (yet striking appearance-wise) toxins known to man is from a seed related to the pea.

If they actually send her to jail for that, it would be petty beyond measure. In fact, they probably couldn't based on the "cruel and unusual" punishment amendment. The "unusual" part specifically. I want to know how many people have actually been sent to prison for unlicensed animals...

I'm sure it would be the county jail as opposed to a prison, but there's no way she would serve any time as a first-time dog-license offender with no other criminal record. She'd probably just get a minimal fine.
