"This evil is a maw that has opened, stealing life from your city," he said.
Gasps and whispers turned into panicked shouts from the assembly, men and women who just a few weeks ago had lived normal, peaceful lives. "Then where does the life go? And what does it feed?"
Elminster looked at the leader of the council, and with a sense of gravity and drama, gave the crowd their answer.
"A new Pool of Radiance in Myth Drannor."
Pool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor is the first Dungeons and Dragons game set in the Forgotten Realms to use fully utilized 3D character animation to bring the world to a level of realism never seen before.
The world is presented in a richly rendered three-quarter, isometric view of the environment, with beautifully hand-drawn landscapes and structures, populated by realistically 3D rendered monsters, NPCs, and character models.
Pool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor begins as an adventure for up to four characters. As the game begins, the player learns that the great sage Elminster has sent a group of heroes to investigate the rumors of a new pool of radiance in Myth Drannor. The player then finds himself swept up into a quest versus a mysterious cult and the growing power of the pool's influence. Along the way, the heroes battle horrible creatures, meet new allies, and discover some of the lost grandeur of Myth Drannor. However, time is not on their side, and the party must work quickly to quell the growing tide of evil.
