TUNNELS

Tunnels

The Word Will Allow Access

I start off at the stairs at 0N 0E. I win fights against random monsters at 0N 2E and 1N 1E.

A message at 1N 2E says: "The word will allow access to the unholy domain of Brilhasti ap Tarj."

The Floor is Real Sticky Here

I go two squares north to win a fight against random monsters at 3N 1E. I get a message that: "The floor is real sticky here." What is meant is that if I were to go one more square north, I would be stuck in that square unless I used Apport Arcane to get out of it. But I didn't bother.

I proceed to win fights against random monsters at 3N 4E, 1N 3E, 1N 4E, 0N 4E, 0N 6E, 3N 6E and 4N 6E.

Your Magic Wavers Here

I win fights against random monsters at 2N 8E and 1N 9E. I get a message after the latter fight indicating that my magic wavers here.

There is another fight against random monsters at 1N 8E, which is also an anti-magic square that snuffs out my persistent spells. 1N 7E and 0N 7E are squares that drain a LOT of Spell Points with each tick. There is another fight against random monsters on the latter square.

I resume with fights against random monsters at 0N 12E, 4N 8E, 5N 8E, and 5N 7E. I recharge my Spell Points at 5N 4E.

I continue with fights against random monsters at 8N 3E, 8N 2E and 8N 1E. I loop around to the northeast corner and win fights against random monsters at 8N 21E and 9N 19E. I come back and loop around to the northwest corner.

I thereafter win more fights against random monsters at 7N 4E, 8N 4E, 9N 5E, 6N 5E, 6N 8E, 8N 8E, 9N 7E, 8N 9E, 9N 9E, 8N 11E, 8N 14E and 9N 16E.

Dark Gloomy Tunnel

I win fights against random monsters at 8N 13E, 7N 11E, 6N 10E, 4N 9E, 5N 13E and 6N 12E. At 4N 11E is an indication of being in a dark gloomy tunnel.

I continue with fights against random monsters at 4N 13E, 5N 14E, 6N 16E, 7N 15E, 6N 14E, 4N 19E, 5N 18E, 7N 17E, 7N 18E and 7N 20E. I cross the line of dark squares to loop around to the west edge, and use a Lightwand I've found to put a light back up.

I win fights against random monsters at 7N 0E, 7N 2E, 5N 1E and 4N 1E. I now recoup my Spell Points at 4N 1E with the help of a Rhyme of Duotime song, and cast Restoration along the way to restore everyone's Hit Points.

I next win a fight against random monsters at 3N 0E. I loop back around to the east edge and win another fight against random monsters at 4N 20E. I use a Lightwand again to put a light back up. I make my way to the gloomy tunnel message at 4N 11E.

Strange Magnetic Resonance

I win fights against random monsters at 2N 12E and 1N 14E. I get an indication after the latter fight that there is a strange magnetic resonance nearby.

I continue with fights against random monsters at 0N 15E, 1N 16E and 2N 17E.

CHAOS

I win fights against random monsters at 2N 19E, 1N 18E, 0N 19E and 0N 21E. After the last fight I get a clue that the word CHAOS, written in blood, may be of some significance.

I win another fight against random monsters at 2N 21E. I return to 0N 21E and then go east to loop around to the stairs at 0N 0E, which I go up.

Catacombs

Entrance to Unterbrae

Lord Stygar, Zarathos, Gallard and Cassandra all have enough xp to advance another level. Ariel is a little short, so I do every set fight against random monsters in the Catacombs again to get her there before leaving and returning to the city.

I go to the Old Man, and everyone besides the Archmages advances another level.

Now I go back to the Temple of the Mad God, and this time use the word "chaos" as an answer. That opens access to the Unterbrae.
