XVART VILLAGE

Nexlit the Xvart and Ursa

Now I travel due west of Nashkel to the Xvart Village. I don't show it in this video, but there's a couple of Wolves to the west of the ravine that I kill for xp.

Anyway I travel up the ravine, and Nexlit the Xvart summons Ursa the Bear. This fight can be troublesome in SCS, as there will also be a LOT of Xvarts as well. Avastrian whips out a Sleep on the Xvarts. Once he and Kivan have managed to cut a path to Ursa, Imoen casts Blindness on the Bear. Jaheira and Khalid are in the meantime going to work on the other sleeping Xvarts. Once Ursa is brought down the Xvarts begin to wake up, so Avastrian whips out another Sleep. It then becomes a matter of cutting them down one by one.

Bear Cave

I continue on towards the northeast and go through the cave entrance. A Cave Bear attacks me, but he's easily dealt with after Imoen hits him with a Blindness spell.

The crate will have a Potion of Fire Resistance (which I collect), a Flail +1, and Bracers of A.C. 8 which Avastrian now wears.

Borda

The party backtracks through the village and ends up having to fight another horde of Xvarts. Now I continue west.

An Elf named Borda comes into view. He tries to sell some scrolls for dirt cheap, the reason being they're cursed. I decide to attack him. He starts off with Armor and Mirror Image in place. He'll also cast spells like Charm Person, Magic Missiles, Horror, Monster Summoning I, and Sleep. I'll quaff Potions of Healing for the damaging spells, and hope that I make my saving throws against the others. If I can make it through his spells relatively unscathed, he'll simply run (at one point bringing another group of Xvarts into view) until I manage to bring him down. He leaves behind a Shortsword +1, and scrolls of Web and Color Spray. I also get 900xp for the victory.

Now I go on to Bear River.
