THE VIGIL
Sir Grayson Corett
Valeria speaks to Sir Grayson Corett in the City Watch Headquarters, and gets accepted as his Squire. It becomes apparent that Sir Corett is quite the idealist who takes his knightly vows very seriously, and expects Valeria to uphold those same vows to the utmost.
Sydney Natale's Ritual
Meanwhile, Sydney Natale and Johcris further their plot for vengeance against Qara.
*Evil* Sir Edmund Cebari
Zarathos instead speaks to Sir Edmund Cebari, who can be found standing next to Axle. It becomes obvious that Cebari has at best a utilitarian view of the knight's code, if even that.
Solace Glade
And here I undergo the Vigil in the Solace Glade. Shandra soon arrives, but so do a trio of Luskan Assassins determined to kill Valeria. Valeria starts with a Haste spell on both Shandra and herself. The pair quickly cut down the Assassins.
Afterwards, I always choose the dialogue options that will increase influence with Shandra, such as "thanks for your help". Shandra also finds the Strange Ring for me.
Sir Corett arrives, but first I loot the dead bodies for a Scimitar +1 and other items before leaving.
*Evil* Solace Glade
The equivalent video for Zarathos. Once in the Solace Glade, Cebari can't help but let on that he is well ... a lecher among other things. Zarathos disposes of the Assassins easily enough by starting off with a Hammer of the Gods spell, followed by an Empowered Call Lightning. He also deliberately picks dialogue options that will lose influence with Shandra, like for example "be quiet" and "you've already caused enough trouble".
Squire of Neverwinter
And here is where Valeria is publicly recognized as a Squire of Neverwinter, thus protecting her with High Justice in Neverwinter instead of Low Justice in Luskan.
Lastly, I give Arval's Journal to Lord Nasher and get 500xp for it.
*Evil* Squire of Neverwinter
It becomes glaringly obvious that Lord Nasher and Cebari detest each other, but not to the point that Nasher will cast aside the utility of having Zarathos declared a Squire of Neverwinter and therefore subject to Neverwinter's High Justice.
Either way, Lord Nasher tasks me with discovering the truth, beginning with a trip to Port Llast.
