CURST ADMINISTRATION
You have finally entered the first floor of the Administration Building. Your target is the third floor where Trias is standing on the balcony, looking out over his handiwork in Curst. But as you might have guessed, the way up there is fraught with danger, as you will find from the moment you enter this building.
Map Key
1st Floor
On the first floor, you will only meet Sohmien and Looters who don't pose much of a threat to your experienced party.
The exit back out to Carceri is at 1. When you enter for the first time, you will immediately be attacked by several Sohmien.
At 2 you will meet a Looter.
The room at 3 has five Looters. You will also find a cupboard with:
The room at 4 has three Looters and a chest with:
There are two Sohmien at 5.
At 6 you will find three Looters and a cupboard with:
One of the cupboards at 7 contains:
The stairs to the second floor at 8 are guarded by a group of Sohmien.
2nd Floor
The second floor constitutes more of a threat than the first floor. You will meet a few Gehreleths and a lot of Curst Guards.
At 9 you will find the stairs down to the first floor. You will also find four very hostile Guards.
The cupboard at 10 contains:
The cupboard at 11 is locked and trapped! Burgle it to find:
Two of the cupboards at 12 can be burgled (beware of traps!) for:
In the main room at 13 you will find a large group of Guards fighting some Gehreleths without too much success. If you enter the fray and kill the Gehreleths, the Guards will "reward" you by turning on your party the moment the last Gehreleth goes down! Each Gehreleth drops some quite good treasure, each Guard drops 50 copper pieces and minor treasure. You can also decide to simply let them fight.
Violent disagreement in the Curst city council.
In the small room at 14 you will find three more Guards.
In the small room at 15 you will find a Gehreleth and a cupboard with:
The stairs up to the third floor at 16 are guarded by a single Gehreleth.
3rd Floor
Plenty of loot and only one enemy to fight. Sounds good, eh cutter? Well, there's only one catch: The enemy is Trias, and he is no walkover!
You emerge at the stairs down to the second floor at 17.
The closet at 18 contains a Heart Charm.
There is a dying Guard lying on the floor at 19. When you approach, he warns you that the Deva is very strong, and then expires.
The chest at 20 is locked and trapped with a Cloudkill trap. Disarm and burgle it to find these fine weapons:
Make sure to identify the weapons immediately (use a Charm of Infinite Recall) and then distribute them to party members as necessary. The Mark of the Savant in particular should be given to either Annah or to yourself if you are playing as a thief.
Trias is at 21. He initiates dialog when you get close enough but it soon becomes clear that this can only end in hostilities.
Trias summons three Sohmien and then has some pretty nasty spells, so try to get your fighters up and close soon to throw off his spellcasting. Also have your spellcasters pelt him from afar. Once Trias is weakened enough he submits and agrees to tell you how to find the Fortress of Regrets:
The entrance was in the Mortuary all the time! Right next to where you woke up at the beginning of the game!!
The key to this portal is "Regret": When you approach the portal, you must tear off a scrap of your own skin and write a regret on it.
Once you have your answer, you can choose to kill him or convince him to return to Mount Celestia and seek forgiveness ("Trias, have you forgotten the face of your father?"). Trias will agree to this and give you a scroll of Celestial Host.
But if Vhailor is in your party, he will kill Trias for "Justice" after Trias agrees to seek forgiveness.
If killed, Trias drops his sword Celestial Fire, one of the best weapons in the game.
If you kill Trias, the Tattoo of the Betrayer becomes available at Fell's Tattoo Parlor back in Sigil. If you convince him to seek forgiveness, the Tattoo of the Redeemer becomes available. If you redeem Trias, and Vhailor then kills him, both tattoos become available.
Once you have finished with Trias, one way or another, run back towards the Administration Building. A portal appears at 22, and you are transported back to Sigil when you walk past it.
If Trias was killed, you will get a short cinematic of Fhjull Forked-Tongue celebrating his freedom. With Trias' death he is no longer bound to be charitable. So much for Vhailor's "justice"!
You will also get a cinematic of Curst returning to the Outlands.
