Since the beginning of the Early Access, the team has been working on the next update and today, we bring some news about it.
Update Content
We mentioned in our previous Community Update that we were actively working on the new content for the next update. It will bring numerous additions such as:
New region - The story will take you to Olima, the City of Stars.
New companion - You'll meet a new ally and unlock new skill trees.
The Hub - A place where to rest, gather your companions and prepare your adventure.
New quests - With the continuation of the story, new regional quests and the first companion quests.
And more...
The other topics we mentioned also progressed since the last Community Update. We plan to release part of it for the Update 0.2 to present an improved system for:
Faster, smoother and more reactive combat experience;
Cleaner animations in and out of combat;
And more...
Please note however that most of the changes we want to implement will take place gradually. As they necessitate substantial work, the Update 0.2 will only be the first step towards this end goal.
We know we'll need to keep building upon them to make the game's experience better for everyone.
As the Early Access continues and we keep up our working on implementing these deeper changes, you can expect even more improvements to the game, especially with the combat and the exploration.
Of course, meanwhile, we will also keep a close eye on your feedback to ensure that we are going in the right direction.

After a long hiatus, I'm thrilled to announce that the gates of Arakion will soon be open! It's been a while since my last update, so bear with me as I walk through what took so long, the first in a series of updates about all the changes, and the plans moving forward for Arakion.
What Took So Long?
In short, life and an engine change. First, life took a turn when I became a father, which made supporting my family the top priority. This limited the amount of time I could spend developing Arakion. Now, I'm in a place where I can commit to developing Arakion full-time for the foreseeable future.
Second, I made the choice to transition Arakion from Unity to Unreal. While I was already working with Unreal on other projects, I decided to bring Arakion into the fold. The switch took longer than I initially anticipated, but it's been worth it. Unreal's mature systems, along with powerful tools like GAS and PCG, means I can implement vast amounts of content with little effort. This makes the future of Arakion very bright!
Let's Talk about Traits
For our first preview, let's dive into the revamped traits. First off, classes have been removed entirely. Instead, heroes now gain one of three experience types: Brawn, Skill, and Will. How a hero gains experience depends on their actions, the skills they use, the decisions they make, and more. These points are then used to learn traits (certain traits still require Traitstones found in the world in addition to experience)
Each type of experience can be spent in its respective trait branch. As you might expect, Brawn traits focus on melee and health, Skill traits enhance ranged weapons and stamina, and Will traits boost casting and energy.
To start your journey, you'll answer a few questions during hero creation, earning a couple of experience orbs to spend right away (don't worry, it's color-coded with tooltips to guide you as you can see below)..
RPGamer explains the combat of Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii:
Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii Provides Combat Details
Sega and Ryū ga Gotoku Studio provided some more information for Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii. The new details and screenshots cover the game's brawling action RPG system as players control Goro Majima, who travels across the ocean to recover his identity after suffering amnesia while being shipwrecked on a deserted island.
Majima is able to switch between two combat styles: Mad Dog and Sea Dog. Mad Dog sees Majima combining fists, kicks, and knife strokes in quick combos. It comes with a Madness Gauge that increases as players deal damage, which eventually allows them to summon doppelgangers to maximize Majima's attacking power. Meanwhile, Sea Dog sees Majima dual-wielding cutlasses while in pirate gear, leading to powerful finishing moves. Its Madness Gauge instead allows Majima to use treasures known as "Dark Instruments" to summon four different dark deities
We're happy to announce that, as of today, our motel is open to everyone!! In other words, we're running an open alpha test on Steam. We're excited to show you the latest Rue Valley trailer so you can get a sense of the game's gameplay:
Previously, we have talked at length about the role of magic in New Arc Line, and it's high time we discussed the role technology plays in our world and its future. After all, imposing steam-powered exoskeletons, weird, crackling tesla-powered weapons or ultra-reliable diesel engines can be just as enchanting as any magical incantation! But not all in the world of New Arc Line is shiny and running like clockwork, despite the engineering and scientific elite ruling it.
The Rise of Technologists
We will not repeat our history lecture about the Weavers and Reus the Lawbringer and how he made scientific progress possible - you can read all about it in "A Brief History of Magic." Suffice to say, after the Mago-Technology wars, science and engineering became the ruling principles. This triumph catapulted the Technologists to power, and nothing stood in the way of industrialization and inventors becoming the new sorcerers, the ones shaping the world and society alike. Steamboats took over the seas, zeppelins conquered the skies and wands and magical staves were surpassed by guns, grenades and other technological implements of death.
