Video-Based Walkthrough for NWN2: Mysteries of Westgate
Charissa, F LG Human Cleric 8
Charissa can be found in the Morningstar Haven in the Arena District. She's a character that can do something of everything. She has the Tower Shield Proficiency feat, so she can act as the party's main tank. She can also pack a pretty mean blade to inflict damage. She can also use the Chain Lightning spell for damage casting. She acts as the party's main healer. Lastly, she can cast long lasting buffs on party members.
Stats
- Str 14
- Dex 10
- Con 14
- Int 10
- Wis 18
- Cha 14
A party member will only get one chance to increase a stat, so make sure it somehow results in a meaningful improvement after it results in an increase to an even number. In this instance, Charissa combines adding a +1 to Dexterity with the Belt of Agility +1. This allows her to take advantage of the +1 maximum Dexterity bonus to armor class that's allowed with Full Plate Armor.
Skills
Charissa emphasizes Concentration and Healing. She continues to develop those during her level ups.
*Evil* I have Charissa spend her first two level ups bringing her Craft Alchemy skill rank to 6, just enough to fiddle about to get the crafting essences that I need. The reason is that no one else in the evil party can really afford to add skill ranks to Crafty Alchemy. After that, she spends the rest of her level ups focusing on Concentration and Healing.
Feats
Starting Feats: Combat Expertise
Divine Might

Power Attack
Tower Weapon Proficiency
9th level: Craft Magic Arms and Armor - Charissa has just the spells I need to add the enchantments I want to certain armors or weapons, so she's the natural choice for this feat.
10th level: No feat selected.
11th level: No feat selected.
12th level: Divine Shield - Gives Charissa an option to increase her armor class with a stackable dodge bonus that can be useful during particularly intense fights.
13th level: No feat selected.
14th level: No feat selected.
15th level: Extend Spell - Now Charissa can memorize spell buffs at one spell level higher but with double the duration. These include Bull's Strength, Eagle's Splendour, Battletide and Divine Power.
Inventory
- Primary Weapon: The Fires of Judgment (Longsword +3, +1d6 fire damage, +2d6 damage vs. evil) - Looted Angurvadal from Viglor at the conclusion of the Rinara's Stash quest. I then enchanted it further to raise its enhancement bonus to +3 and add +2d6 damage vs. evil. Angurvadal is one of those rare opportunities in Mysteries of Westgate for me to get a weapon that combines +2d6 damage vs. evil with an elemental source of damage. And Charissa can use it since she has the Weapon Proficiency (Martial) feat.
- Shield: Tower Shield +2 - Purchased from the Armorer in the Market Triangle. It's all about maximizing her armor class.
- Helmet: Helm of the Horselords (immunity to fear, +1 Concentration, +5 Intimidate) - Purchased from Okuzo's Imports. The bonus to Intimidate is meaningless for Charissa. The immunity to fear and bonus to Concentration are both very welcome for her however.
- Amulet of Natural Armor +3 - Looted from Neev in the Harbor Loop. It's all about maximizing her armor class.
- Armor: Enkidu's Armor (Full Plate +1, slashing resistance 5/-, piercing resistance 5/-) - Purchased from Okuzo's Imports. A Full Plate armor that provides damage reduction is certainly welcome for a front-line tank. Charissa can always use a Magic Vestment spell to raise the enhancement bonus.
- Cloak: Greater Cloak of Protection vs. Evil (+5 deflection bonus to armor class vs. evil) - Purchased from Obid Teltas. Much like in the OC, almost everything I face in MoW will be evil, so the cloak serves as a handy +5 boost to armor class for a tank like Charissa.
- Gloves: Gloves of Ogre Power (+2 Strength) - Purchased from Mintassan. Charissa's source of a Strength bonus, and allows her to get a +1 bonus to Dexterity and Freedom of Movement through her belt slot.
- 1st Ring: Ring of Holiness (+1 0-level Clerical spell, +1 1st-level Clerical spell, +1 2nd-level Clerical spell, +1 3rd-level Clerical spell, +1 4th-level Clerical spell) - Purchased from High Priestess Valethia in The Dark Lady's Promise. A ring that provides bonus spells never hurts for a Cleric.
- 2nd Ring: Ring of Fortitude +2 - Purchased from Mintassan. Better fortitude saving throws for a front-line warrior is always a good thing.
- Belt: Belt of Agility +1 (+1 Dexterity, Freedom of Movement) - Purchased from Mintassan. The +1 Dexterity bonus will mesh with the +1 Dexterity she took during her 12th level up, and that in turn allows her to take advantage of the maximum +1 dexterity armor class bonus of her Enkidu's Armor.
- Boots: Boots of Hardiness +2 (+2 Constitution, +2 dodge bonus to armor class) - Purchased from Mintassan's Mysteries. Boots that provide a boost to Constitution and a bonus to armor class that will stack with everything else is certainly ideal for any front-line tank.
