Sun in Shadow will start off as dark and full of shadows, and it will be hard to see where you're going. Once you reach this point, known as the Walk of Souls, the Watcher will use his or her power to illuminate nearby parts of the level.
You will find a gemstone or two in these ashen effigies.
You will find a gemstone, plus Boots of Speed, in this ashen effigy.
Engwithan Shades will attack you at these spots. They will leave behind Spirit Residues when killed.
Here is the Guardian's Dome. Coming here will result in using your Watcher powers to illuminate more of the area. You will also get attacked by several Engwithan Shades here, led by a Shadow Drake.
An avatar of the deity named Wael will speak to you here if you have previously completed The Parable of Wael task in a way that the scroll was lost to the Priests of Wael (and therefore to Wael's own satisfaction). Rational and Stoic replies are available during the conversation.
Wael will ask what you want to do with the souls that Thaos has stolen. If you want a boon talent from Wael, then it is best to avoid indicating that you have previously accepted a request and boon from another deity during the Council of Stars quest.
He will subsequently make himself clear that he would like you to scatter those souls to completely random destinations that will be unknown to mortals and deities alike, including himself. If you previously avoided indicating acceptance of a boon from another deity, you can now commit to Wael's request. He in turn will grant you the Wael's Boon talent (+1 Intellect, +10 Defense against Confusion).
Even if you indicate that you have accepted a boon from a different deity, Wael's request will still be open. You can still scatter the souls to his pleasing at the end of the game. However, you remain with the boon granted to you by a previously deity. If you scatter the souls for Wael in this circumstance, such will most certainly be considered betrayal by the deity who previously sponsored you once the endgame epilogue plays out.
You can jump across this broken bridge during a scripted interaction. However, it is very likely that the party member with the lowest Athletics score will sustain an injury.
You arrive here if you jumped across from #12. You can also jump back across to #12.
There will be two corpses here. One will have a random armor, and the other a random weapon, in either instance of Fine or Exceptional quality.
Here is the Court, where the Watcher will again use his or her powers to illuminate the area. And again you'll have to fight several Engwithan Shades and a Shadow Drake.
These stairs lead down to the second level at #18.
Theses stairs lead up to the first level at #17.
This ashen effigy will have a random gem and a random scroll.
Coming here marks the conclusion of the Memories of the Ancients quest, and the start of your final battle against Thaos.
The deity called Skaen will speak to you when you reach this point, and make an offer on behalf of Woedica, to channel the souls to her power as Thaos originally intended.
Clicking on this machine is where you will decide the fate of the souls that Thaos has stolen.
