DEEP IN THE WILDS
Flemeth's Hut
Here, of course, is where I wake up to the sight of Morrigan and the realization that I was saved from atop the tower by Flemeth. The wooden chest can be looted for a random item. The steel chest cannot be looted until I get the key for it, which won't be until much later on.
Morrigan Joins
I leave the Hut and engage in a prolonged conversation with Alistair, Flemeth, and Morrigan. Flemeth insists that Morrigan join me. There are of course opportunities to make small gains in favour with both Alistair and Morrigan.
Teyrn Loghain's Bid for Power
Here is the cutscene where Teyrn Loghain tries to assume regency over Ferelden in front of the nobility in Denerim.
The Dog
I am on my way to Lothering when I run into the same Mabari Hound that I had helped earlier. He is on the run from a large force of Hurlocks. Battle naturally ensues.
I send Alistair ahead to help out the Hound. Aldarion waits until the situation crystallizes. Once the battle position settles, it turns out that Alistair and the Hound are right next to each other, and there are two forces of Hurlocks on either side of them. Aldarion then carefully aims a Cone of Cold at the more numerous force to the left of Alistair and the Hound. He then follows up and damages the same line of Hurlocks with a Shock spell.
This battle also shows how effective Threaten can be. The Cone of Cold + Shock combo should have meant that the Hurlock Alpha would have come straight for Aldarion afterwards. But Alistair, attacking and damaging the Alpha repeatedly, pretty much keeps the Alpha tied down. This leaves both Aldarion and Morrigan free to start picking off the Hurlocks at a distance with single-target spells. Alistair finds it necessary to use a Lesser Health Poultice to survive the Hurlock Alpha's attacks. It soon becomes a mop up.
The Hound then becomes a companion. I chose to name him "Max". The video concludes with me setting a tactics script for Max.
The party is now ready to journey to Lothering, and then add a couple of new companions.
