MULSANTIR GATE

Mulsantir Gate

Safiya's Disguise

I leave the Barrow and travel to Mulsantir Gate, arriving at #2 on the map. A dialogue with Safiya ensues, and at some point I choose the dialogue option that involves a Lore check and showing my knowledge of Thayan history. The point is of course to increase my influence with Safiya.

Safiya switches out her Red Wizard robes for Safiya's Disguise (+3 armor class, +3 Concentration). Note that trying to enter Mulsantir itself while Safiya is wearing Red Wizard Robes will always result in her switching back to her disguise.

Shevledar Nuum

I have Valeria cast Bull's Strength on Safiya, the idea being I can have her run ahead to the next merchant without getting weighed down. Valeria also casts an Eagle's Splendour on herself. At #3 is a merchant named Shevledar Nuum. I speak with him for a fair bit, and then pass a Bluff check to get him to reduce his prices. He sells a few weapons and armors of +3 to +5 enhancement bonus. His more unique items will include:

The Bag and a few Potions of Heal are the only items that interest me.

Shevledar is also an opportunity to sell off the items that I found in the Barrow, thus reducing the risk that I'll run the other merchants in Mulsantir out of gold if I sell them too much. However, it is a one time opportunity. Shevledar appears as a merchant only when you first travel to the Mulsantir Gate, so grab the opportunity while you can.

The spot at #4 is the entrance to Mulsantir itself. But my immediate priority once within Mulsantir is the Veil Theater.
