Return to Neverwinter
Camp Routine
Now it's time for a few quests available in or around Neverwinter. I have Umoja speak to Brother Maxil in the Adventurer's Guild. The teamwork quest I want is Camp Routine, which has a leader requirement of Survival +8 and a party members requirement of Survival +8.
All I need to do is travel to the Destroyed Camp located at #27a on the Overland Map. Everyone in the party gets 700xp and the Camp Routine feat, which reduces the chances of a surprise ambush during resting by 25%.
Superior Flank
I return to Crossroad Keep. I kick Finch out of the party and temporarily replace him with Belueth the Calm.
Next I go to the Adventurer's Guild. I have Belueth speak with Juen about the Superior Flank requirement. The leader requirement is sneak attack damage +4d6, which Belueth has after I leveled her up some. The party members requirement is +3 base attack bonus, which everybody easily satisfies. Juen advises me to take on some Assassins who are located in a cemetery just north of Neverwinter, at #27b on the Overland Map.
I return to the Merchant Headquarters, and switch Belueth back out for Finch. Belueth doesn't have to be with me when I travel to the cemetery. I just needed her momentarily to speak to Juen as the party leader.
I have everyone activate their attack modes once I reach the cemetery. I cut the Assassins down very easily in physical combat.
Everyone in the party earns 1,100xp plus the Superior Flank feat (+2 attack bonus against flanked opponents).
The Trading Post
I enter the Temple of Waukeen in Neverwinter, and speak with the Fated Winds representative, Martin Keller.
He has a number of quests for me. The first two quests, Sating the Sensate and The Trading Post, are available immediately without acquiring an additional rank with the cartel.
A third quest, Shortage, is not available until I pay 1,000 trade bars to acquire the next rank with the cartel.
A fourth quest, Under New Management, is not available until I pay 2,000 trade bars to acquire the next rank with the cartel.
I cannot complete Sating the Sensate and Under New Management until I've completed certain other quests in Port Llast first, so they'll have to wait. The Shortage quest advances the main story line, so that will have to wait as well.
The quest I do for now is The Trading Post. I seek out Sir Nevalle in the tavern, who insists on 800 trading bars to open up the trading post. The price cannot be negotiated down. I pay.
I then enter the newly opened trading post, which is right next door to the tavern. I speak with the trader, and pay out the gold to maximize trading routes between Neverwinter and New Leaf, Crossroad Keep, Highcliff, and Thundertree.
My next destination is Port Llast.
