The Master's Tools

Endless Paths, Level 12

  1. TcharekA Vithrack named Tcharek will be at #6 on the Endless Paths - Level 12 map. It's fairly easy to avoid hostilities with him, but there are also dialogue options based on having the Old Vailia background, combining an Intellect check of 12 with a Diplomatic reply, and dialogue options that increase Aggressive, Clever and Diplomatic disposition.

    He will want you to recover three items composed of Adra from the level below.

  2. A pack of Vithrack and Crystal Eaters will be at #12, led by Kestorik. Clever and Diplomatic replies are possible while conversing with him, as is a dialogue option based on a Perception check of 14.

    He will be spoiling to attack you, unless you can make a Resolve check of 18 or indicate explicitly that you have been given the quest by Tcharek, in which case he'll let you pass.

    3. Endless Paths, Level 13

  3. The Engwithan Machine Part is at #2 on the map of the thirteenth level of Endless Paths. Be forwarned that there will be a few traps in the tunnel leading up to it.

  4. The Adra Shell is at #7.

  5. The Gleaming Adra Fragment is at #14.

  6. Kestorik will accost you when you return to the 12th level. There are multiple ways of handling this:

    • Attack him, which earns Aggressive disposition. He and the other Vithracks will leave behind their usual Vithrack Brains. Kestorik himself will also leave behind three Emeralds.

    • Give him the Adra items. He attacks you anyway, leading to the same outcome as above.

    • Make an Intellect check of 16, which allows you to pass him by without a fight.

    • Make a Dexterity check of 18, which allows you to pass him by without a fight.

    • Make a Resolve check of 16 that earns Passionate disposition, and then another Resolve check of 18. That also allows you to pass him by without a fight.

  7. Tcharek will reward you with at least 2,000cp and a Dagger called Drawn in Spring. He may be willing to reward you with more depending on other choices, both current and previous.

    If you tell him that Kestorik tried to ambush you but you managed to avoid fight, then Tcharek will also throw in a Sapphire.

    If you indicate that you will be willing to help Tcharek for its own sake, there won't be any additional rewards, but you'll increase Benevolent disposition.

    You could press for more of a reward, which earns Aggressive disposition. Tcharek is then willing to throw in a Ta Ondra Tara, 2 Topazes and a Ruby.

  8. Another Vithrack named Krivi will be at #7 on the Endless Paths - Level 12 map. He'll open up a shop after you complete the quest. His inventory includes a few Exceptional armors, a few scrolls, and some gems.

  9. The table has a grimoire called The Leaves of Essence. An unsuccessful attempt to steal if from the table will cause Krivi to attack you. You could, of course, just kill him for it as well. However, you can safely take the grimoire from the table without attracting Krivi's hostility after completing the quest.
