Time and Tide is Kana's personal quest. It begins the moment the finds him at #2 of Caed Nua while it remains a haunted ruin. He wants to find a tome called the Tanvii ora Toha, the Book of Virtue. He believes it can be found in the underground depths beneath Caed Nua after it becomes your stronghold.
Once you complete The Old Watcher quest, Kana will want to speak to you again immediately afterwards. The gist of it is that he believes that the book he is looking for is deep within the caves and dungeons below Caed Nua.
He will want to speak with you yet again once you rest for the first time after completing The Old Watcher quest. You intially have the opportunity for a Benevolent or Aggressive response. He reaffirms his desire to search the labyrinths below Caed Nua for the book he seeks. You then have the opportunity for Rational, Stoic, Passionate or Cruel responses.
He will speak to you again as you approach the stairs at #23 of the first level of Endless Paths, which leads to the second level of Endless Paths. He'll explain that his reason for wanting the Tanvii ora Toha is the hope that he can learn more about a historical scholar / wizard named Gabrannos and his involvement in past events. Aggressive, Diplomatic and Rational replies are available during this conversation.
At #15 is a Skeletal Wizard that will immediately go hostile. Kana will express disgust and shock at the legendary Gabrannos being reduced to an undead monstrosity. Clever, Passionate and Stoic replies are possible in response to his disappointment.
The table at #18 will have the Broken Tablet that is Kana's objective. He is likewise very disappointed that the Broken Tablet is in such a deteriorated condition as to have no scholarly value. Clever and Cruel replies are possible to his disappointment. The last set of dialogue choices during the conversation will affect Kana's epilogue after the game has ended. This conversation marks the completion of the quest.
