Endless Paths - Level 14

Endless Paths, Level 14

*Evil* 13th Level Vase

I show first the path for the evil party. I start off at #1 on the map of the 14th level.

I take the stairs at #3, which connects to the trap door at #4 in Caed Nua. I rest up until it's the 16th day of the month, and then take the stairs back down to the 14th level.

From there, I take the stairs at #1 back up to the 13th level.

Endless Paths, Level 13

That brings me to the stairs at #23 on the map of the 13th level. At #22 is a hidden vase that has an item from the "13th Level - Upper Hidden in the Boss Room" section of the Random Drop List. It is the 16th day of the month, so that means the vase will now provide Durance with his pair of Gauntlets of Swift Action. The obvious benefit is that it helps him cast his spells faster, especially when he needs to peel off an extended buff sequence at the start of combat. It also helps him attack faster with his sword or arquebus.

After that, I return to the 14th level.

*Evil* Spirit of Od Nua

At #5 is the spirit of Od Nua. Zakara speaks with him briefly, and straightaway picks a fight with him at the first opportunity. The Spirit will summon several Cean Gwlas to help him. It is enough at the least for Durance to get off Prayer Against Imprisonment and Prayer Against Treachery at the start, and the fight will pretty much take care of itself.

The Spirit of Od Nua leaves behind the Shroud of Mourning after dying. Durance wears it for the rest of the game. The Resolve bonus helps his Concentration when he needs to get off spells, as well as his Deflection Defense so as to enhance his part-time role of off-tank.

*Note* There is a hidden cache at #7 that will have an item from the "14th Tomb" section of the Random Drop List. But at this point, both the good and evil parties pretty much have what they want, so it won't matter to me which item I get from it.

Spirit of Od Nua

Alliria indulges a lengthier conversation with the Spirit of Od Nua, and makes a Benevolent dialogue choice towards the end of it to convince the Spirit to depart willingly without a fight. A Resolve check of 20 would have worked at the end as well, had I been able to make it.

The Spirit of Od Nua also leaves behind the Shroud of Mourning as a result, but the good party will just sell it since its members will be using other amulets or cloaks.

Whether you convinced the Spirit to leave willingly, or had to kill it, the result is that the magical curtain at #8 dissipates, revealing the stairs to the 15th level of Endless Paths.

*Evil* The evil party is lower level than the good party during this part of the game, so it wants some extra help against the upcoming Adra Dragon. They therefore head for the Cragholdt Bluffs, with the intention of obtaining a Wizard spell that will be very useful against Dragons.
