Endless Paths - Level 8
Close Friend
I start off at #1 on the map of the 8th level. There will be Fampyrs on this level, so Kana switches over to his Phrase modal that provides resistance bonuses against Charmed and Dominated. Devil of Caroc also disarms a couple of traps just ahead.
I have to fight my way through a LOT of undead on the west side, but am able to do so without difficulty. A trapped chest at #4 has a Crossbow called Close Friend, but I'll just sell it.
Undead and Traps
I head towards the north part near points marked at #6. Still plenty of undead led by Fampyrs to fight. Since there's narrow checkpoints involved, I adjust my tactics a little. I have Devil of Caroc plant Pillar of Holy Fire traps at the narrow checkpoints, lead the undead past them, and lead them to fight the rest of the party inside a wider room.
Adra Beetles and Menpwgra
At #8 will be a few Adra Beetles led by a Menpwgra. I have Hiravias and Kana clear a path for Ituumak, so that he and Sagani can quickly take out the Menpwgra. The battle is otherwise pretty easy.
The stairs at #9 opens up a pathway to the trapdoor at #4 in Caed Nua. I rest up with the Intellect bonus, and come back the way I came.
*Evil* Argwes Adra
I show the next part from the perspective of the evil party. At #13 will be an ancient Fampyr, surrounded by a lot of undead minions including Skeletons and a few Death Knights. The Death Knights are capable of launching Fireballs.
If you have previously completed the Undying Heritage quest so as to gain fluency in the ancient Engwithan language, then you'll be able to speak with the Fampyr and possibly convince him to let you pass by to the next level without any further hostilities. However, both the good and evil parties prefer to go on the attack.
Aloth starts with Bulwark Against the Elements to protect against the Fireballs, then Eldritch Aim followed by the Pull of Eora and a Malignant Crowd. He follows up with Kalakoth's Minor Blights and Merciless Gaze to begin the bombardment.
Durance begins with Prayer Against Treachery to protect against the Fampyr's Charm and Dominate powers. He then begins an extended buff sequence of Consecrated Ground, Devotions of the Faithful, Circle of Protection, Salvation of Time, capped off with Interdiction.
I eventually manage to destroy all the minions, and then gang up on the Fampyr.
The Fampyr leaves behind a Plate Armor called Argwes Adra. Maneha wears it in the evil party. Plate Armor is always a natural choice for a tank build. Even if it's used rarely, the Second Chance power can be particularly helpful to Maneha. If she gets revived by the Second Chance, she can immediately invoke her Stalwart Defiance power to recoup her Endurance.
The video concludes with me adding the +2 Dexterity and Crush-Proofed enchantments to the armor. She will get other attribute bonuses from other item slots, so the armor becomes the default choice for adding a Dexterity bonus.
Argwes Adra
The good party wins the battle fairly easily, especially after Hiravias uses a chain of Moonwell, Relentless Storm, and Venombloom, and Alliria activates her Sacred Immolation power.
It is Kana who wears the Argwes Adra armor for the rest of the game. Again, Plate Armor is always a natural choice for a tank build. Even if it's used rarely, the Second Chance power can improve his resiliency. The other key point is that it adds a +2 bonus to Lore, which allows him to use the most powerful of scrolls.
The video concludes with me adding the Exceptional Quality, the +2 Dexterity, and Shock-Proofed enchantments to the armor.
Adra Beetles
I slaughter Adra Beetles at spots marked #10. After that, I rest up with my hitters getting the Accuracy vs. Primordial bonus, and then grab Camping Supplies from the locked chest at #7.
The stairs to the 9th Level are at #14.
