Ducal Palace
Gedmar Doemenel's Sponsorship
The entrance to House Doemenel is at #11 on the map of Brackenbury.
I end up at #1 on the map of the main floor of House Doemenel. The stairs to the next floor are at #3.
I am now at #11 on the map of the second floor. Gedmar Doemenel is at #21. He is more than happy to sponsor Alliria's attendance at the hearings, since she completed The Changing of the Guard quest for him.
*Evil* Commander Clyver's Sponsorship
Zakara heads over to the First Fires District.
The entrance to Crucible Keep is at #11 on the First Fires map. Commander Clyver will be at #11 on the map of Crucible Keep. He is more than willing to sponsor Zakara to attend the hearings, since she completed the Winds of Steel quest for him.Palace Invitation
The entrance to Hadret House is at #14 on the map of Brackenbury.
The party will now be at #1 on the map of the main floor of Hadret House. Stairs going up to the next floor will be at points labelled #2.
Either of the stairs will bring the party to one of the points labelled #9 on the map of the second floor of Hadret House. Lady Webb will be #17. She is now more willing to explain the details of her past relationship with Thaos. Either party now informs her of their sponsorship to attend the Animancy hearings, upon which she admonishes either party to make for the hearings post-haste.
Third Assassins Attack
The good party ends up at the south end of First Fires. They make their way north and are attacked by a third wave of Assassins, whom they dispatch easily with standard tactics. The entrance to the Ducal Palace is at #3 on the map of First Fires.
Animancy Hearing
I start off at #1 on the map of the Ducal Palace. I make my way to the balcony at #12 to begin the hearings themselves. Possible dialogue choices are based on having either Honest or Aggressive disposition, a Might check of 16, a Perception check of 15, a Resolve check of 18, an Intellect check of 16, or a Lore check of 5. It ultimately won't matter what your dialogue choices are, or whether you side with Animancy remaining legal in Dyrwood or not. Everything leads to the next event described just below.
Assassination of Duc Aevar
Duc Aevar is about to pronounce his judgment when Thaos takes over control of the Animancer named Ramir di Barrasc, and forces him to kill the Duc.
Speaker to the Restless
The good party heads south to pursue Thaos, but Alliria goes unconscious while Thaos makes good his escape. She has a vision of Thaos in full ceremonial robes torturing a woman over an iron wheel.
Alliria acquires the Speaker to the Restless power. It can be used twice per Rest, and can be used to Frighten all enemies within a 5m radius of her. The good party leaves the Ducal Palace.
*Evil* Dominion of the Sleepers
Zakara instead acquires the Dominion of the Sleepers power, which adds +2 to all attributes for 20 seconds, once each Rest.
Animancy Riots
I am back at #3 on the map of First Fires. Full blown riots have now broken out across the city. The fires and obstacles and whatnot are such that I have no choice but to make my way to the exits marked #12 at the southern edge of First Fires.
Taking one of those exits will (without even referencing the World Map) take me straight to #18 on the map of Brackenbury. Nearby at #19 will be the body of a dead Animancer, who can be looted for the Animancer's Boots. I have no use for them though.
And again, the fires and obstacles leave me no choice but to make my way to the entrance to Hadret House at #14 on the map of Brackenbury.
The Hermit of Hadret House
I speak again to Lady Webb, who lies murdered by Thaos. She leaves behind the crucial bit of info that Thaos has made his way to Twin Elms.
It is now time to start Act 3, beginning with Stormwall Gorge.
