Brackenbury
Nedyn
I speak with Nedyn at #17 on the map of Brackenbury. She wants me to retrieve for her a tome called The Theorems of Pandgram, starting the quest of the same name. I head for Copperlane.
Elder Archives
The entrance to the Hall of Revealed Mysteries is at #17 on the map of Copperlane.
I start off at #1 on the map of the Hall. A potentially significant obstacle is the door at #13. There is also, conveniently, a Priest of Wael standing nearby who will sound the alarm if he catches you opening the door without authorization. There are multiple ways to deal with this obstacle.
The door itself requires either the Key to the Elder Archive, or a good enough Mechanics skill, to open. You could simply slaughter everyone in the temple. High Archivist Grimda, who's at #10, will leave behind the Key to the Elder Archive when killed.
A character with good enough ranks in both the Mechanics and Stealth skills can open the door while in scouting mode and retreat before the nearby Priest notices. The stealth character can then sneak inside the room and retrieve what Nedyn wants.
However, since I had previously completed The Parable of Wael task such that Grimda willingly gave me the Key to the Elder Archive, I simply use the key to open the door and enter without anyone objecting.
A bookcase at #16 has The Life and Discoveries of Pandgram. Reading its contents raises the question of whether Nedyn should be allowed to get her hands on the tome she seeks.
Theorems of Pandgram is in a locked chest at #17, but Alliria decides to leave it where it is. She instead informs Grimda of Nedyn's intentions with respect to the tome. That results in a minor boost to positive reputation with Defiance Bay, a 200cp reward, and Grimda permanently barring Nedyn from the Hall of Revealed Mysteries.
This event marks the conclusion of The Theorems of Pandgram quest, but my decisions still leaves a loose end to be tied up. In that respect, the good party now travels to the Woodend Plains.
*Evil* Elder Archives
Zakara instead decides to take the Theorems of Pandgram and leaves the Hall with it, and with Grimda none the wiser.
*Evil* The Theorems of Pandgram
Zakara gives Theorems of Pandgram to Nedyn. I get 500cp as a reward for pulling it off without killing Grimda. The reward would have been only 400cp had I killed Grimda.
The Theorems of Pandgram
Since Alliria did admittedly screw Nedyn over, Nedyn and several other Wizards will be waiting for me at #13 on the map of the Woodend Plains. The Wizards are all squishy, and therefore easily killed off before they can do much of anything.
My next destination is the Charred Barrel.
