Vailian Embassy
Vicent Agosti
The entrance to the Vailian Embassy is at #9 on the map of First Fires.
I end up at #1 on the map of the Embassy. I speak to Vicent Agostie at #4, who wishes me to deal with a mercenary band that is engaged in illegal trading activities, but without killing them outright. This conversation triggers The Forgotten task.
Obsidian Shade Lamp
The Obsidian Lamp Figurine is in a locked chest at #5. The Devil of Caroc uses it in the good party, giving her the option of summoning three Shades once per rest.
Zakara uses it in the evil party. She hands over the Ashwood Cameo Figurine to Eder.
I now make my way to the Aedelwan Bridge.
The Forgotten
I go to the middle of the bridge, and meet the various members of The Forgotten. I go along with it, only for one of their members to arrive late and blow my cover, forcing the inevitable fight.
Alliria tags both Hiravias and Devil of Caroc with Reinforcing Exhortation, and then tags their leader (i.e. the guy in the red armor) with Sworn Enemy. Grieving Mother hits everyone with Phantom Foes. Hiravias starts with Relentless Storm and then Form of the Delemgan. Sagani and Ituumak team up to take out both their Wizards one by one. Alliria hits their leader hard with both Flames of Devotion. Victory follows as a matter of course.
The key acquisition is the Sanguine Plate, which I loot from the body of their leader.
I give the news to Vicent Agosti, and get rewarded with 5 Emeralds as my reward for completing The Forgotten task.
*Evil* The Forgotten
*Evil* Zakara has the rest of the party retreat, and lets herself get ganged up on and knocked out. The party then fights back in earnest. Durance casts Revive the Fallen on her once there's only one or two enemies left. That means that Zakara has been revived in combat for the fifth time, and that in turn means she has obtained the last upgrade for St. Ydwen's Redeemer. That upgrade means the Great Sword is now of Superb Quality, and the ability to use Revive the Fallen once per Rest.
The other key acquisition for the evil party, besides the Sanguine Plate, is that Aloth now obtains Harkeen's Grimoire (more on this later).
The video concludes with obtaining the same reward from Vicent Agosti.
Sanguine Plate
Now I'd like to perform some armor enchantment. Problem is, I don't have the gems I need for what I have in mind, so I head over to Ondra's Gift.
Once there, I speak to Curnd at #8 on the map of Ondra's Gift, and give him the 'Yc Nybeon Eyldfeon' password. I purchase two Diamonds and a Sapphire from him.
Now I enter the Salty Mast and rest up. My next order of business is to enchant Devil of Caroc's Body. I add the +2 Perception bonus, which is what I needed a Diamond for, as well as a +3 Slashing Damage Reduction bonus, for which I already have the ingredients.
Grieving Mother is going to wear the Sanguine Plate. The bonus to Survival is nifty since it enhances her resting bonuses when camping outdoors or in dungeons. The real point is that it will activate Frenzy for her when she gets Critically Hit, which will happen often. The Constitution bonus from Frenzy will improve her resiliency, while the bonuses to Attack Speed and Might will increase her fighting power.
I next place the +2 Perception enchantment on it, which required the other Diamond that I purchased. I then add the +3 Crushing-Proofed enchantment, since Crushing Damage is a relative weakness for plate armor.
The video concludes with the good party departing for First Fires.
*Evil* Sanguine Plate
Zakara intends to wear the Sanguine Plate for the rest of the game.
I add the Exceptional Quality enchantment to it, and that's as far as I can go for what I have in mind.
I next place the +2 Intellect enchantment on it. The point is to increase the range of her powers like Zealous Endurance, The Black Path, and Sacred Immolation.
Lastly, I add the +3 Crushing Damage Reduction enchantment to it. She already has increases to Piercing and Slashing Damage Reduction from her Blunting Belt, so it makes sense to round things out with a bonus to Crushing Damage Reduction.
Aloth now also has Harkeen's Grimoire. He scribes the Arcane Dampener spell from it, which functionally is roughly the equivalent of Dispel Magic from D&D gaming systems.
The Searing Falls is the next destination for both parties.
