MAGES' TREASURE
Elven Ritual
I travel by overland map to the Brecilian Ruins. Leliana has raised her Cunning, so she can now disarm the Pressure Plates near where I first encountered the Dragon.
I continue on to the second level. There will be a sarcophagus in the room just south of where I first encountered the spirit of an Elven boy. The sarcophagus has a Fancy Scroll, which I gift to Wynne, and a Tablet that describes an Elven Ritual.
I continue on to the end of the hallway, but then turn left to the room to the north. In the middle of the room will be a fountain. Towards the northwest corner of the room will be an altar. The proper sequence (as described by the Tablet) is:
Juggernaut Plate Armor
Now I enter the room, and loot a few sarcophagi. There will be a couple of Skeleton Archers at the other end of the room that are easily handled.
A small set of stairs leads to an elevated platform. The spirit of an Elven Mage will be at the top of the platform, and she will inevitably attack along with a couple of Shades. The key here is to minimize her spellcasting. Aldarion keeps her under wraps for a while with Crushing Prison. She manages to recover, but Wynne prevents her from casting a high-level spell by knocking her down with a Stone Fist. She falls soon after, and so do the Shades.
A nearby pile of bones has a random item. The sarcophagus has the Juggernaut Plate Armor (+10% to all resistances).
Juggernaut Gloves
To earn the rest of the Juggernaut Armor set, I'll need to go to various places in the Brecilian Forest and disturb the wards at the grave sites. In each instance, I'll have to fight not just a Revenant but also several Skeletons and Corpses as well.
I have Wynne use Cleansing Aura for these fights. Cleansing Aura is a sustained ability that passively recoups health with each round, making these fights much more doable. The basic pattern is to finish off the Skeletons, saving the Revenant for last. Wynne of course continues to use Heal and Group Heal when needed, and the party members are themselves willing to use Health Poultices when needed, but Cleansing Aura still makes things significantly easier in that regard. The catch here is that I need to keep an eye on her mana bar, and be ready to have her chug down a Lyrium Potion when needed. Each Revenant will leave behind an additional piece of the Juggernaut Armor set.
The first one I do is the gravesite that's just a little north and east of the entrance to the Brecilian Ruins, in the East Brecilian Forest. The Revenant here leaves behind the Juggernaut Gloves (+5% to all resistances).
Juggernaut Boots
Here is much of the same, only that the gravesite is on the north side of the East Brecilian Forest. This Revenant leaves behind the Juggernaut Boots (+5% to all resistances).
Juggernaut Helm
The last gravesite is in the northeast portion of the West Brecilian Forest. The last Revenant is helped out by a few Skeletons, as well as a Skeleton Mage. Aldarion hits the Mage right away with Crushing Prison. He and Wynne both tag the Mage with a Lightning Bolt and Arcane Bolt respectively. Aldarion then walks up to the Mage and kills it.
It then becomes a matter of taking out the rest of the Skeletons, and then the Revenant. The Revenant leaves behind the Juggernaut Helm (+1 armor, +10 mental resistance).
Once all the pieces of the Juggernaut Armor set are collected, Sten will wear them. The set bonuses of +3 to both Strength and Constitution are well suited to his role, taking down his targets as quickly as possible with massive damage from each swing of his sword.
Now it is time to complete Leliana's quest.
