Royse is at #8 on the Stalwart Village map. She'll relate that she has no idea where her daughter, Mylla, is, to which Benevolent, Clever and Passionate replies are available. She also lets on that Mylla frequented Hamonde's shop.
At some point she would like you to keep the fact of her daughter's absence a secret from her husband, Logdar, to which Honest and Stoic replies are possible.
Hamonde will be in his shop at #11. He in turn will indicate that the only person in town who exercised any kind of real parental influence on Mylla was a Dwarven woman named Asca.
Asca is at #12. She will indicate that Mylla often spent time in the nearby Temple of Abydon, the entrance to which is at #7.
You start off at #1 on the Temple of Abydon map. Engrim is at #4. He'll indicate that Mylla often made drawings on a nearby table.
Mylla's Drawing is on the table at #4. It provides a clue in that it portrays Mylla playing with children in a cave.
One way to resolve this task may require that you have a Darkest Ruautai Cookie in your inventory. If you decide you need one, you can purchase one from the innkeeper of the Goose and Fox, the entrance to which is at #4 on the map of the Copperlane district.
Logdar can be found at #3 on the Durgan's Battery map. If you show him Mylla's Drawing, he'll take it from you but also indicate that the cave depicted can be found in Whitestone Hollow.
You could also mention to him that Mylla has gone missing. His initial inclination will be to go off in search of her, which he will do if you encourage him or otherwise don't talk him out of it. It may be preferable to avoid this, since his going off in search of Mylla will lead to what may be considered a suboptimal resolution to the task (more on this later).
You start off at #1 on the Whitestone Hollow map. The entrance to the Wicht Cave is at #8.
Mylla will be inside the cave, surrounded by several Wichts. You could choose to attack the Wichts at the outset once the dialogue begins. Also, if Logdar had gone off in search of his daughter in response to your previous conversation with him, it will be heavily implied that the Wichts killed him and are now extremely agitated. That means they will attack you on sight. The Wichts will be easy enough to kill. Several spirit animals of various sorts will attack afterwards, and will leave behind Spirit Residues when killed.
If you did not set Logdar off on a search for his daughter, and you avoid attacking the Wichts right away, then you have a couple of possible options to persuade Mylla to leave willingly without having to kill the Wichts. Those options become available either by suggesting that you can give her a Darkest Ruautai Cookie if it's in your inventory, or making an Intellect check of 12 that also earns Deceptive disposition that suggests you'll give her a cookie if she returns to Stalwart Village.
More options open after that. One is to give her the Darkest Ruautai Cookie if it's in your pack, or to select another Deceptive dialogue options that promises her the cookie if she returns to Stalwart village. Either route convinces her to leave the cave willingly, without having to kill the Wichts. Note that there will also be more than one Cruel option at this point in the conversation, either of which will provoke the Wichts into attacking you.
Royse will want to give you a 500cp when you return to her afterwards. You can either accept it, or select a Benevolent dialogue option that turns it down.
If you convinced Mylla to leave the cave willingly without killing the Wichts, then she will indicate to you that a 'bubble helmet' can be found in the roots of a large tree near the cave. She will provide no indication of such, and you won't be able to find the helmet, if you had killed the Wichts.
