Temple of Woedica

Copperlane Catacombs

Vision of Older Robed Man

The entrance to the Temple of Woedica is at #22 on the map of the Copperlane Catacombs.

Temple of Woedica

I will next be at #1 on the map of the Temple of Woedica. I step ahead to #2, and have another vision of the older robed man that caused the Watcher condition near the start of the game. Answers to his questions have no ingame consequence.

Temple of Woedica Sarcophagus

I now go north. A button at #3 opens up the door at #4. There will be a trap on the other side, which is disarmed.

There will be a trapped sarcophagus at #5, which has an item from the "Copperlane - Temple of Woedica" section of the random drop list.

It happens to be the 13th day of the month, so I get a pair of Naasitaqi Boots. I hold on to them, since they may come in handy during quests where sneaking around type solutions are possible.

Hafmacg

A few acolytes of Woedica led by Hafmacg will be at #6. I could get past him with either a 350cp, an Intellect check of 13, or a Resolve check of 13. But both the good and evil parties prefer to slaughter their way through everything here. This battle should not be difficult at all.

Initiate of Woedica

I fight my way past the odd servant of Woedica as I press through the rooms to the north.

There will be an Initiate at #9. If you're infiltrating the Temple, then it's pretty obvious to speak with him and convince him to share the passwords necessary for further infiltration, as long as you don't indulge in any blatant giveaways.

However, as I've committed myself to slaughtering everything in sight, I kill him too.

*Evil* Aloth Falters

I show the evil party instead for the next part. There will be a significant group of Mercenaries in the south room with #13 and #14. A hall runs north-south between that room and the other room to the north. Aloth plans a Chain Lightning trap near the south end of the hall. Eder goes ahead and leads the Mercenaries back to the rest of the party. Durance uses his sequence of Blessing, Consecrated Ground and Daze. Aloth plants a Chill Fog and starts to blast away with his Wand. The battle is won rather routinely.

I continue through the south room, and then head through the hallway that leads west. Aloth falters and has his other voice take over once I reach the point at #15. This event is a trigger point for his personal Two-Sided quest.

The Shrouded Woman

At #16 will be the Shrouded Woman, protected by several Shrouded Men, some of whom are powerful warriors. If I were infiltrating the Temple, I would need the passwords that can be learned from the Initiate in order to convince her to willingly impart the visions that lead to the next main quests.

However, I'm already committed to killing her and her minions. I position almost everyone in a straight line, but well back of the door. Only Sagani is behind the line. I have the Orlan Rogue set a Malignant Cloud trap at the door. He opens the door to get their attention, and regroups with the party back to the straight line.

Hiravias immediately begins a sequence of Returning Storm, Form of the Delemgan, Moonwell and then Nature's Mark.

Grieving Mother hits as many enemies as she can with Phantom Foes. She hits her nearest target a couple of times to rebuild her Focus. She then uses Soul Ignition on a few enemy Wizards, along with the Shrouded Woman, who are clustered at the door together.

The party otherwise cuts down enemies who approach the line, and then take out the Wizards at the door afterwards.

*Evil* The Shrouded Woman

The evil party wins this differently. Aloth plants a Malignant Cloud trap at the doorway. He and the rest of the party position themselves carefully so that they're just beyond the edge of where the Malignant Cloud will take effect. Zakara goes ahead and opens the door to lead the Shrouded Woman and her minions towards the party. She, Kana and Eder form a front-line to keep the spellcasters safe.

Durance begins a sequence of Devotions for the Faithful, Consecrated Ground and Interdiction on the oncoming foes.

Aloth begins a sequence of Eldritch Aim, Pull of Eora at the doorway, followed by Chill Fog near the doorway as well. The concept is to keep the enemies held near the doorway, and unable to get out of both the Malignant Cloud and the Chill Fog.

Aloth follows up with Kalakoth's Minor Blights and Merciless Gaze. The front-line warriors don't often have to attack anybody that makes it out of the crowd-control. Aloth, meanwhile, bombards the enemies at a distance with his Blights. The battle is won rather easily.

Never Far From the Queen

Alliria uses her Watcher powers to speak with the soul of the Shrouded Woman. The conversation reveals three visions, which conclude the Never Far From the Queen quest, while at the same time triggering the Undying Heritage, Through Death's Gate, and The Man Who Waits quests.

Torc of Defiance

A vase at #19 has the Torc of Defiance. I have no use for it though, so I'll just sell it.

A hidden switch at #18 opens the door at #20. The stairs at #21 go up to First Fires, near where I had first encountered the Ghost of Lord Adwellen Rugfald.

*Evil* Two-Sided

Aloth indicates that he wants to speak to Zakara after leaving the Temple of Woedica. He explains that he himself is Awakened, and shares his body and consciousness with a past life that calls herself Iselmyr. This event triggers Aloth's own personal quest, Two-Sided.

I am soon going to begin the first part of the White March expansion, but first I need to stop off at Caed Nua.
