Undercroft
*Evil* Undercroft
I show this part from the perspective of the evil party. I take the lift, and arrive at #1 on the map of the Undercroft. I witness Huana Watershapers use their powers to ease the passage of goods through the docks of the Undercroft. Tekehu is furious over a perceived desecration of the Watershaper's art.
A Brawler guard at #2 questions my presence. Any of showing him the Marked Suole, saying you've been sent by Captain Aeldys, or that you're here for Gwenfin, will give you the run of the Undercroft.
I could take the pulley at #3 across to #6, but I don't bother. There's a hidden niche south of the pulley that sometimes has a high value gem.
Boar Pen
I go south to the pen at #4. I open the door to start a fight with the Boars inside. It's easy enough to set up a bottle neck at the door, while Alliria spams Fireballs and Mirke fires away with her guns.
There's a hidden Ring of Minor Protection at #5. Aloth equips it for the rest of the game, with the obvious point of maximizing his Defenses and thus maximizing the duration of buffs like Wizard's Double and Ironskin. I continue east for a bit.
*Evil* Captain Mad Morena
I go on ahead to #9 and speak with Captain Mad Morena. Making a negative comment about her security will provoke her into attacking. Making a Streetwise check of 6 and giving her 500cp won't do much besides cost you 500cp.
Zarathos indicates that Captain Aeldys sent him, but the dialogue option was available only because he had previously spoken with Aeldys. An alternative is to show her the Marked Suole. If you like, you can follow that up with saying you got it from Dereo to earn Clever disposition. Either method will convince her to trust you with the job. The job itself is to bring her three Crates of Crude Luminous Adra as part of the Goods and Services Quest.
One way to obtain what you need is to go to the Luminous Adra Mill at #21 on the map of Queen's Berth.
Cortina is willing to sell them to you at 2,000cp per crate if you have 3 points of positive reputation with the Vailian Trading Company. You can reduce that rate to 1,500cp if you make a follow-up Diplomacy check of 6. You can also get them at 1,500cp, even if you don't have reputation with the Vailian Trading Company, by making a Bluff check of 9. Alternatively, you can have a character with a decent Stealth skill take them unnoticed out of the various containers in the Mill.
Another method is to board and loot ships of the Vailian Trading Company on the World Map. Each Company ship will have two of the Crates as part of the loot. I already have more than enough of the Crates both by stealing from the Mill and by pirating Vailian Trading Company ships. I give them to Morena for a 10,000+ xp reward, and a Sabre called Tarn's Respite. I have no use for it.
I also bring up feeding the Roparu as part of the Food for Thought Quest. She readily agrees to establish new contacts to feed them.
Ydwin has enough to advance to her 12th level. She takes Improved Critical. It can mean more damage when she lands Critical Hits with spells like Silent Scream or Amplified Wave. It can mean more damage when she attacks with her ranged weapons, and that in turn can mean more Focus.
Captain Mad Morena
One key difference for the good party is that they don't call on the Principi to supply food to the Roparu as part of the Food for Thought Quest. An arrangement has already been made with Prince Aruihi.
Pallegina takes The Prisoners Turned On Their Captors on her 12th level-up. It upgrades Shatter Their Shackles so that it also adds the Strong (+5 Might) Inspiration in addition to the immunity to Dexterity Afflictions. The upgrade can increase the Damage and Healing provided by multiple party members, but can also protect against Might Afflictions like Stunned.
Now I go west to #7, where Dereo's contact named Gwenfin is waiting for me. She goes through the tunnel to the Old City Ruins.
