Pillars of Eternity 2 Video-Based Walkthrough by David Milward |
The Glowing Outcrop
A Paradise of the Mind
I start off at #1 on the map of the Glowing Outcrop. Menzzago, a Fampyr Illusionist, is at #2. Alliria wants nothing to do with his evil plans, so she picks a fight with him. He's aided by other Fampyrs, including Fampyr Wizards, and several Alguls. I win using more or less the same strategies as with Quartermaster Harka.
One of the items he leaves behind is a Scepter called Amaliorra. Its appeal is its ability to inflict Shaken (or Frightened with one of the upgrades) on a Critical Hit, and its Domination powers for a non-Cipher character. It doesn't fit into any of my plans though.
Another item he leaves behind is the Silk Spider Robe. Fassina wears it for the rest of the game. The Robe itself has some impressive features, such as +3 to Slashing Armor Rating and immunity to Dexterity Afflictions. The real point is to add Poison Master, which adds another +2 Poison Power Levels to augment spells like Malignant Cloud and Noxious Burst and Nannasin's Cobra Strike. I also spend an Adra Ban to add Spider Blooded, which provides immunity to all poison-based attacks.
The last item he leaves behind is Menzzago's Grimoire, which is relevant to The Lost Grimoires Task.
I destroy the orb at #3 before going down the stairs at #4.
Now I speak to Copperhead in the Boathouse again. He'll reward you with 16,000+xp as well as Copperhead's Helm was rewards for completing the Quest called A Paradise of the Mind. You can also, when first speaking to him again upon your return, have the option to recruit him as a Crew Member for your ship. But Alliria declines Copperhead's Helm with the Benevolent dialogue option and also doesn't need him as a Crew Member.
I bring Aloth back in for Fassina and return to the ship.
*Evil* A Paradise of the Mind
Zarathos instead pursues an alliance with Menzzago. Opening up the possibilities requires either a Diplomacy check of 8 or a Survival check of 8. The possibilities then become:
*Evil* Blackwood Hull
I now use the five Blackwood Logs and pay 64,000cp to construct the Blackwood Hull. I upgrade my ship with it, so that it is now capable of sailing through the storms of Ukaizo.
Both parties now sail for the Black Isles at #24 on the World Map in order to explore the Temple of Revelation.
