ERROL - M DWARF BARD
Why He's Included
The Bard can become extremely powerful through the use of his magical instruments. My favorites were the Arresting Aria (Freeze All), the Renaissance Lute (Restoration), the Dulcimer of Mending (Heal All), and the Chaos Drone (Pandemonium). His possession of various instruments allow him to react to a variety of different situations. He can wreak havoc on the monsters en masse, or he can heal her comrades. Using instruments does drain stamina, but there's two ways to deal with this. One is that a spell caster can simply make a small expenditure of Water mana to recoup the Bard. The other, and this is like the Bard's dirty secret, is that he can use the Renaissance Lute on himself to pick himself back up. The Restoration spell also restores stamina.
A Dwarf is admittedly an unconventional choice for a Bard. But the Dwarf's naturally high Strength, Vitality and Piety, and adding to those as the game goes on, ensures he'll have a large pool of stamina to draw on for his songs before needing to replenish it. There's a few items that provide Strength bonuses, so he only needs to raise his to 85.
He'll max out his Vitality to obtain the Iron Skin expert skill. The damage resistance provided by that skill will stack with the bonus damage resistance inherently enjoyed by Dwarves, and the bonus to Iron Skin provided by a Bard-only armor that I'll purchase later in the game.
He'll also add to his Piety, which increases his Stamina even further. He also makes a decent rearguard who can hold the backside when he has to.
