Garrick, M CN Human Bard
Attributes
Strength | 14 |
Dexterity | 16 |
Constitution | 9 |
Intelligence | 13 |
Wisdom | 14 |
Charisma | 15 |
Why He's Not Included
I've never found Bards especially palatable since they can't perform the other functions that you'd associate with a Thief, and this often means having to take on two less than physically stellar characters into the party. It doesn't help that his Constitution sucks.
Xzar, M NE Human Necromancer
Attributes
Strength | 14 |
Dexterity | 16 |
Constitution | 10 |
Intelligence | 17 |
Wisdom | 16 |
Charisma | 10 |
Why He's Not Included
His school specialization doesn't allow me illusionary spells for defense, and his Constitution is pathetic. Edwin is simply the best choice for evil pure spellcaster, period.
Minsc
Attributes
Strength | 18/93 |
Dexterity | 16 |
Constitution | 16 |
Intelligence | 6 |
Wisdom | 6 |
Charisma | 9 |
Why He's Not Included
Minsc certainly remains a viable party member. But Kivan is no slouch either and he fits more into my plan of adventuring with 5 party members until I get Yeslick, whereas Minsc would force me to bring Dynaheir along in a full party of six. Kivan also makes available a couple of items I want as part of the BG1 NPC Projects mod.
Branwen, F TN Human Cleric
Attributes
Strength | 13 |
Dexterity | 15 |
Constitution | 16 |
Intelligence | 9 |
Wisdom | 16 |
Charisma | 13 |
Why She's Not Included
Cleric spells are useful but situational. When a Cleric isn't casting spells I'd like the Cleric to be able to participate meaningfully in up close combat. By that measure a multi-class Fighter/Cleric like Yeslick is always just plain better than a single-class Cleric like Branwen.
Xan, M LN Elven Enchanter
Attributes
Strength | 13 |
Dexterity | 16 |
Constitution | 7 |
Intelligence | 17 |
Wisdom | 14 |
Charisma | 16 |
Why He's Not Included
I just have a hard time swallowing a mage who can't cast the standard damaging spells as a full-time party member, and enchantment spells are largely situational. His cool sword just isn't enough to change this evaluation.
Safana, F CN Human Thief
Attributes
Strength | 13 |
Dexterity | 17 |
Constitution | 10 |
Intelligence | 16 |
Wisdom | 9 |
Charisma | 17 |
Why She's Not Included
I just don't find single-class Thieves very useful, at least not in EasyTutu. I much prefer either a Dual-Class or Multi-Class build for my thieving character so as to increase versatility. The pitiful Constitution and Wisdom scores don't help either.
Ajantis, M LG Human Paladin
Attributes
Strength | 17 |
Dexterity | 13 |
Constitution | 12 |
Intelligence | 12 |
Wisdom | 13 |
Charisma | 17 |
Why He's Not Included
Khalid has better Dexterity while Ajantis has better Strength. Once Khalid gets the Gauntlets of Ogre Strength he's just plain a better fighter than Ajantis. And besides, from a story-telling point of view, he's meant to be with Jaheira at least during the first game.
Coran, M CG Elven Fighter/Thief
Attributes
Strength | 14 |
Dexterity | 20 |
Constitution | 12 |
Intelligence | 14 |
Wisdom | 9 |
Charisma | 12 |
Why He's Not Included
There's nothing wrong with Coran really, it's just that I have a different setup in mind for my good party that just doesn't leave any room for him. Somebody else may very well prefer a setup that includes using him in a fashion similar to how I've described Montaron.
Eldoth, M NE Human Bard
Attributes
Strength | 16 |
Dexterity | 12 |
Constitution | 15 |
Intelligence | 13 |
Wisdom | 10 |
Charisma | 16 |
Why He's Not Included
His ability to produce Arrows of Biting each day is pretty useful. But my objection to including him, even for an evil party, is the same as for Garrick. I don't find Bards very useful during BG1. Add to that keeping him depends on having Skie in the party as well, collectively they both feel like luggage.
Faldorn, F TN Human Druid
Attributes
Strength | 12 |
Dexterity | 15 |
Constitution | 11 |
Intelligence | 10 |
Wisdom | 16 |
Charisma | 15 |
Why She's Not Included
Her ability to summon a Dread Wolf once a day is interesting, but in the end the comparison is the same as between Yeslick and Branwen. A multi-class Fighter/Druid becomes much more useful than a single-class Druid in the long run. Jaheira will have good spells to cast and be much better in close up combat than Faldorn can hope to be.
Quayle, M CN Gnome Illusionist/Cleric
Attributes
Strength | 8 |
Dexterity | 15 |
Constitution | 11 |
Intelligence | 17 |
Wisdom | 10 |
Charisma | 6 |
Why He's Not Included
He just doesn't fit into my plans. His pitiful stats, especially Wisdom and Constitution, are also knocks against him. Also I simply tend to view Fighter/Mage or Fighter/Cleric or Mage/Thief builds as far more useful and seamless than a Mage/Cleric.
Alora, F CG Halfling Thief
Attributes
Strength | 8 |
Dexterity | 19 |
Constitution | 12 |
Intelligence | 14 |
Wisdom | 7 |
Charisma | 10 |
Why She's Not Included
Sorry, I just don't like single-class Thieves, at least not in EasyTutu. Pitiful Strength, Constitution, and Wisdom scores are other knocks against her.
Skie, F TN Human Thief
Attributes
Strength | 11 |
Dexterity | 18 |
Constitution | 15 |
Intelligence | 15 |
Wisdom | 8 |
Charisma | 13 |
Why She's Not Included
Yet another single-class Thief but this time with decent stats. That she comes far too late, and that you have to have Eldoth in the party as well, are deal breakers for me.
Tiax, M CE Gnome Cleric/Thief
Attributes
Strength | 9 |
Dexterity | 16 |
Constitution | 16 |
Intelligence | 10 |
Wisdom | 13 |
Charisma | 9 |
Why He's Not Included
I don't really like the idea of a Cleric/Thief. Clerics should be wearing plate armor for maximum protection, so having to wear leather armor to accommodate thieving skills feels like an encumbrance on the whole set up. Also available far too late in the game. Otherwise not bad stats.
