Why He's Included and How to Use Effectively
Clerics are a must for their healing and buffing abilities. But the use of Clerical spells tends to be infrequent and highly situational. And since Clerics can wear the heaviest armors, I thus prefer a Fighter/Cleric who can participate in melee combat, and cast healing spells or buffs only when needed.
Yeslick has low Dexterity, but equip him with the Warhammer +2, a good set of plate armor, and the Gauntlets of Dexerity, and he becomes very durable on the front lines. Other items ensure that he enjoys immunity to the very afflictions he'll need to rid his party members of. For example, the Ring of Free Action immunizes him against Paralysis, leaving him free to cast Remove Paralysis when other party members have been paralyzed. Kiel's Helm immunizes him to Fear, leaving him free to cast Remove Fear when the party is hit by a Horror spell. He's also the party's main source of healing, and will cast Protection from Evil 10' Radius at the start of each new day. He can also cast Defensive Harmony in a pinch when it's needed.
