  1. Here is the initial landing point for the island.

  2. Here is an Oasis from which you can get 13 Water.

  3. Here is the Howling Gorge, which involves a scripted interaction and potentially a fight against some Xaurips that worship a Drake.

First, you can have one of your characters make a Perception check of 13 to detect the presence of Wilder voices. Maia can also send Ishizu to scout ahead. Alternatively, a Cipher character can detect the presence of other minds in the vicinity.

After that, you can either go back the way you came to end the scripted interaction or continue forward and notice several Xaurips worshipping a Drake.

Now you have some more options:

    • Draw weapons and rush to attack
    • Go back the way you came to avoid a fight
    • Use Charm Beast to force the nearby Drake to scatter the Xaurips
    • Watch further, whereupon the Drake will eat a Xaurip Priest.

If you watched the Drake eat the Priest, you can now make a Stealth check of 3. This will allow your party to start in Stealth mode and position your characters in a way you consider more advantageous to start combat.

  4. Here's an Abandoned Camp from which you can get random food and such.

  5. Here's the Broken Spear Pass, which involves a scripted interaction. A Perception check of 12 by the Watcher will reveal that the sand seems animated.

If you proceed to loot the skeletons, you'll be attacked by several Sand Blights and Wurms who surround you from all sides.

However, if your Watcher character has a missile weapon or two as his or her current weapon set before starting the scripted interaction, you'll have the option to test the sand dune from a distance. The Sand Blights and Wurms will still attack you, but they'll all be in front of you.

A skeleton in the area has a pair of Healing Hands.

  6. Here is a Ruined Tower, from which you can get random loot.

  7. Here is the entrance to the Cavern of Xaur Tuk-Tuk.
