Volo's Quests

Tourist

Now I want to do some quests for Volo. I may have to speak with Sa'Sani for a bit and get some indication from her about Volo having work for me, before the appropriate dialogue options become available through Volo.

One of the things Volo would like to have done for him is for the party to describe any exotic locations they find to him. It doesn't matter whether I visited the locations before or after the Explorations quest opens up.

I describe five locations to him, for which everybody in the party gets the Tourist (+1 Search) feat.

Pretty Bird

Volo has another job for me, to get him a Caged Parrot.

Vadin'ya has the Parrot, but an Appraise check from Gallard (or an Intimidate check from somebody else) reveals that she'll only part with it if she gets an exotic pet from the Underdark Black Market.

So I travel to the Black Market. I buy the Caged Glacier Snake from Xorill for about 500gp. I return to Samargol and exchange it with Vadin'ya for the Caged Parrot.

I bring the Caged Parrot to Volo for 800xp and 3,000gp.

13th Level

And here I advance everyone to their 13th level of experience.

Sightseeing

Volo has a quest for me, an item that indicates the existence of a past Yuan-ti Temple. And so I return to the Ruined Temple on #18 of the map.

Ruined Temple

The bookshelf at #3 of the Temple map has several spell scrolls, plus the Ruin Fragment.

I return the fragment to Volo, and get 600xp and 1400gp. Volo also gives me the Simbul's Sly Smile. When a character has it in his or her inventory, it will confer a damage reduction of 1. I choose Logan, since of all the warriors in the party he tends to be the most vulnerable to getting hit.

Local Delicacy

Volo's next job is to get him some Dinosaur Steak. A Megaraptor can now be found near the Waterfall Cave. It won't be hard to bring down, and leaves behind the Dinosaur Steak when killed.

I didn't show it on the video, but I did a LOT of grinding on the way back. Remember, grab any chance you can to kill off random monsters for experience.

I bring back the Steak to Volo for 600xp and 1,500gp.

My next destination is a location called Tempest's Fury.
