Haenferic will be at #5 on the map of the main floor of Gref's Rest. If you ask him about an Orlan he mentioned earlier, he'll indicate that he'd appreciate it if you convinced an Orlan named Ailef to leave town.
The Orlan in question, Ailef, can be found at #11. He explains that his reasons for staying are because an expert Slaver and tracker named Defala is after him. He would appreciate your help in getting her off his trail, permanently if need be. Aggressive, Benevolent, Cruel and Passionate responses are available during the conversation.
Defala and her band of Slave Trackers will be at #22 on the Russetwood map. There are three distinct ways to handle things.
One way is to fall in with Defala's request to bring Ailef to her. She is only too willing to mention that Ailef had murdered his master's son during his escape to provide extra incentive. Convincing Ailef to leave Stalwart Village and fall into Defala's trap will add to Deceptive disposition. She'll reward you with 1,000cp when you return to her in the Russetwood.
Another way is to attack Defala and her crew. There is a Passionate response, and a response based on having a Slave background, that will provoke a fight with her. She and her crew don't have any magic on their side, so the fight shouldn't be difficult. The loot includes:
A third way is to initially fall in with Defala's offer and head back to Ailef. He's willing to explain that he didn't want to kill the master's son, but his son caught him sneaking out and he felt he could not leave behind any witnesses. You can kill him then and there, although he only leaves a few coins behind. If you have built the Dungeon for your stronghold then you will also have the option to have him serve sentence for the murder.
If you go back to Defala after killing or imprisoning Ailef, she will become upset because she can't complete her tracking job. The fight will ensue, just as with the second option described above.
However you resolved Ailef's fate, once he's gone from Stalwart Village, speak to Haeferic. You will get rewarded with a minor reputation boost with Stalwart Village and an Opal.
